remember to allow extra time for Easter

Just a heads up really for people waiting for cheques to clear or having ebay items to post.

Anyone with cheques in the clearing system should remember that after today there are no working days again until Tuesday, that means anything paid in today won't clear for funds until at least this time next week.

The Post offices also will be closed tomorrow and monday and my two local post offices are also closed Saturday (they only open half days usually anyway) as they are doing an upgrade or something. Whether this upgrade maintenance thingy will effect other post offices I don't know, i might just be unlucky, but if it does that means no outgoing parcels until Tuesday.

I of course totally forgot and have auctions finishing tonight which is a shame as my buyers will have a long wait for their parcels.

I hope so too, I have an eBay item which needs to be there before Monday. I posted it this morning first class.

I posted stuff out today as well and was hoping it would get there Saturday but I did warn my buyers that it might well be Tuesday before they see the item. An item I posted last FRiday first class from the post office didn't arrive until Wednesday this week which I think is appalling.

Yes, I have not had anything delivered first class lately. They all seem to take a few days to arrive.

I just hope this does arrive Saturday as I don't want neg feedback. They took too long to post the cheque and I kept saying if it doesn't arrive soon you won't get the tickets in time.

Fingers crossed they arrive Saturday.

A common problem with cheque payments, they take for ever and then the item has to be sent immediately.

Usually I would have suggested that it might have been prudent to use special delivery as that guarantees next working day delivery, but even that doesn't include Saturdays.

I hope it arrives in time for you.

I just sent a parcel today using special next day delivery and the woman in the post office said that she expects it will arrive on 30th march!

SPecial delivery is guaranteed for the next working day which should be the 29th (Tuesday) so if it doesn't arrive Tuesday I would have thought you would be able to claim late receipt?
