Virgin: Sky users - would you support this?

Hi
I don't particularly like Sky but Mrs GG likes to watch a lot of rubbish and I do watch repeats of Del Boy. We pay £20+ per month.
I am not imperessed by Sky's action with respect to Virgin TV (switching off the channels for cable users).
Would you support an action whereby SKY Customers cancel/reduce their Sky packages? When asked why reply with "In support of Virgin and cable users I am going to buy a freeview box." or something along those lines.

Why should Sky subscribers subsidise Virgin Media customers.
If Virgin want Sky programming for their customers they should be prepared to pay for it.
I'm not aware of any original programming that Virgin have.
Programs like Lost, 24,Battlestar Galactica, Stargate and the Simpsons don't come cheap.
Presumably they are paying the going rate for Sky movies/sports.
The problem is that Virgin have a fixed number of subscribers, with no possibility of expansion except at enormous expense and as far as I am aware are loss making. Virgin always like to portray themselves as some sort of consumer champion, I suspect the reality is somewhat different. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I don't doubt for one minute that Richard Branson is a ruthless businessman.
Equally, I believe Sky is a huge rip-off - even worse than the BBC.

My 8 Mbps broadband and 2 mixTV package from Sky costs me £20/month, which at the moment seems to be good value for money.
I used to have to pay £17.99 for a 2m broadband service alone. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

At least with Sky, you have the option to not pay for it. You have to pay for the BBC regardless of whether you watch it or not.0 -

Why are Sky subscribers subsidising Virgin ones? Sky will now lose tens of millions in lost advertising, plus loss of revenue from Virgin. If anything, Virgin subscribers were subsidising Sky ones!
What you may not know is that only a few weeks ago, Virgin gave Sky a new deal on all their Flextech channels (UKtv, Living, Bravo etc) that was way less than they were paying before. Then Sky want to double the price Virgin pay for their channels...0 -
i am a sky customer, why would i "cut off my nose too spite my face" so to speak because virgin media and sky can't come to an agreement.
Does it affect me? NO
Does it really bother me? NO
Ok Sky may be greedy but aren't all big companies, including Virgin Media/NTL
So i would definetly not agree to any action against sky.0 -

Have a read of this , I know a lot of BS has / will come out about the dropping of Sky on VM but I'm not convinced it's all Sky's fault.Up to the final hours we tried time and again to reach a solution, including proposing a way for Sky to retail channels directly to cable customers in a way that would cost Virgin Media nothing.0
