Or we could create a second board called 'how to claim compo' and leaves this one in tact :D

Or just redirect it to vents, praise and warnings as that all most posts are

"Help I almost died from discovering a toenail in my bed at the B&B, How can I become a meggamillionair"

I see very few threads about attempting to claim compensation and most of those I do see have a valid reason.

I hate the compensation culture as much as the next person but I don't think it's fair to say that it is a particular problem on these boards. I think the problem is more that if there is a thread people are very quick to jump in and criticise the OP so it turns into a "thing" when it needn't.

I think you are trivialising and generalising things somewhat.

There have actually been some very clear cut cases on here where compensation is (legally and morally) due. That doesn't mean that the OP in question will get zillions and be able to retire on the basis of a slip or a trip. Fortunately, the law doesn't work like that.

There are cases where there is clear trolling. The OP's generally don't come back. Perhaps they just sit back and see the do-gooders take the bait and then enjoy the show.

I don't think it is "every other thread" where there is a silly claim and I also don't think that "every payout of compo costs us the consumer more for our goods".

BlueAngelCV is absolutely right that people are very quick to demonstrate the fact that they read the Daily Mail and accuse everyone of being a compensation vulture. I think that in itself is very, very sad.

Should everyone prosecuted and found not guilty recieve compensation for their trauma? Grovelling apology too perhaps?

I find it, that it is a certain amount of the little ' Clique' we have on here, who don't read the OP posts properly and just decide that they are in the wrong and should be hauled over coals for it.

The majority of the ones I have read, seem to be people, who have had the misfortune of something going wrong, who have discussed it with someone else, who says they may have a case.

They then put a post on here, asking genuinley for advice and then get a barrage of, if not abuse, then some holier than thou postings, stating that they are an abomination and should be disgusted with themselves.

The same ' Holier than thou' contributors, then deem it totally acceptable to rob from Charities, who have set up money off vouchers , so their fundraisers can raise more cash. ( you know who you are ;))

I think a number of the clique are so overdue a yellow or red card, never mind being PPR'd, that they should start looking at what they write and think how they can upset a person, seeking advice.

I have no problem with people seeking advice, but when they say 'I was nearly hurt' then ask about compo it is taking the pee
