Wow. totally puts everything into prospective. I have been out of work for 6 months and applying for so many jobs with no comeback. Was feeling sorry for myself lately. Thank you for your post. x0 -
Worst thing? You realize how petty your life is when everything else fails and you just pin all your hopes on that odd quid spent on the national lottery ticket which never gets you anything anyway...:)0

I did that to, you live in hope you might win something but in reality I was lucky to get 1 number.0 -

Humans are peculiar things. Some will have unprotected sex and think the morning after pill makes everything ok, then they'll spend £1 on a lottery ticket. Fact is they statistically have a higher probability of getting pregnant, than they do winning £10.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0 -
One of the worst elements to being unemployed is the hypocracy of it all. The jobcentre pretending to be interested in getting people into jobs, when they just exist to keep jobcentre staff in work and to basically monitor unemployed people.
The fact that there is very little work available -they know it and the people signing on know it. Really unless they have proper decent suggestions for training and proper full time jobs they should just leave people to get on with it. Its just silly. The stark reality of the situation is that there are going to be a lot of people out of work for a long time. 8 hours per week jobs, are of little use to anyone apart from 16-18 year olds.0 -
*Benefits Bashers* and Benefits Bashing Media who are too influential in Public Opinion.
Manufactured public consent. Depressing political scene. #torytoffscum who are out of touch with public they claim to rule.

Hi, I live in solihull & sign on at solihull job centre, im just wondering whos unemployed on here it doesnt matter how long im asking whos !!!!ed off with the job centre where ever you are
Do you get treated/spoken to like your !!!! on their shoe & looking down on you.
Do you Ask for help if you have have not recieved you jobseekers allowance & made to feel like a nobody/criminal just because you dare to question or complain about it.
Reply please if you are in same position as me & think all job centre employees 'advisors' & managers need ALOT or training especially in customer service & regular appraisals are definetly needed, also i think as we have to speak to these so called advisors we should be allowed to say what we think maybe rate them/a questionaire ??
Im not saying all job centers are the same there has to be some good ones & some nice advisors out there, please reply if you have any comments or complaints about your job centre, names of employees etc, if you are willing to join me & get a petition started so i can take it to my local mp & see if things can be improved...somehow let me know.
Thank you,

*Agggh I remember this from Sociology at Essex University.'Labelling Theory' which went in hand with 'Moral Panics' both of which are handsomely demonstrated on this and other sites. 'The Sociology of Deviance. Those were the days!!!!
Now it is a lived experience and I am thinking how do we get our own back on the Benefits Bashers who are the reason this Tory Government is able to assault the welfare state?#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

*Benefits Bashers* a real downer, niave ignorant ill informed people and not the bright intelligent independent thinking people they should be. I find my circumstances stressful-hence MY WAY OF DEALING WITH THINGS AS I SEE FIT-and so to encounter an unexpected Benefits Basher a rellie, as well as predictable lot here is one of the major downsides of life as an unemployed disabled Graduate.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

The Hidden Dimension The Bashers can't see this but; raving inequalities meaning AGEism, DISABLEism Mentalism all pose real barriers into the type of jobs and careers that would make an escape from benefits worthwhile.
The Inflow and outflow of people from benefits to work to benefits and back again creating an economically insecure precarious existencce.
The lack of social mobility a key factor.
The Tory assault on the welfare state. What if we had to rely on patronage and a return to charity handouts. Would we have Charity Handout Bashers then??? Oh it's my money I do what I want you swearword scrounger.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
