Feeling guilty!

I bid for an item - a t-shirt on Ebay, and during the auction asked the seller what the material was - the reply came as 100% cotton. Good I thought, I'll bid for that and I did and won. I received it this morning only to discover its 100% nylon. I can't wear it due to having eczema. I was really miffed, and sent a negative feedback straightaway. Now I feel really guilty, as I didn't want to upset anyone and give them a bad feedback. It was done in the heat of the moment and I should have thought about it. Can I retract my feedback? I have also, emailed the seller apologising, but had no response.

i wouldn't do it straight away however....don't you wanna see what happens first?0

I suppose I want to see what happens, but I really didn't want upset anyone. I'm sure the seller though it was cotton and it was a genuine mistake. I can always give it to someone else to wear. Do you think I was being too hasty?Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

I would have contacted them first about it to see what they say as they might have refunded you. So perhaps a little hasty but it isn't what you thought it was going to be so in a way you are right to leave neg feedback.

It's not good to do your feedback in the heat of the moment, but entirely understandable.
All you can really do is wait for the seller to get in touch. After all you DID check what the material was beforehand, and it doesn't really take the brains of Einstein to check the label of it !
As Heather said, there is the option for mutual feedback withdrawl if you now manage to sort it out.0 -
Just got an email from the seller, who offered a refund and was put out I'd given her negative feedback. I said I was sorry and we have both agreed to withdraw feedback.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Hang on there a second - you went to the trouble of asking what it was made of. He / she said cotton and then sent you a nylon one and then gets put out when you left negative feedback...!
Now I know you are meant to try and sort out with the seller first etc..., but isn't this tantamount to lying?
He / she shold apologise and swap rather than be put out. It has cost you time and effort to fix the mistake - none of your doing...
Don't be sorry - it is not even remotely your fault.
As you can probably tell - I have been burned in a similar manner before and I have no patience with these sort of "mistakes" ...
Anyway - w/end - easter - warm weather - gonna find a chill pill and settle down with some pims in the garden.

Feedback has been withdrawn (mutually) - I certainly didn't want any trouble and I haven't been on Ebay very long, so I didn't know the do's and don'ts for feedback. Have learnt that you email the seller first before posting any feedback. Anyway, I feel much happier now and ready to start ebaying again.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Didn't you get warnings to sort things out with the seller/buyer before you left a neg? Sending a nylon garment instead of the advertised 100% cotton is NOT an easy mistake to make!!0
