All i'd say is be prepared for:
    1) it to take some time
    2) it to go wrong & then you to have to call & chase it.

They (either Halifax or Santander) ballsed up BOTH mine & my gf's ISA transfers - ignoring direct instructions both times.
Mine has finally been sorted (even though i applied after my gf). My gf's is still ongoing.

I may have a similar problem, I transferred an ISA from Santander to Halifax last year, it appears to have been allocated to a 1 year (2%) fixed Isa, I had actually requested a 4 year (4.4%) . I originally went in the branch and sat with the guy while he completed the forms, it is still wrong How did they sort your problem out?

You mean by online banking? There's a 'make a payment' on my barclays account homepage where it offers that option by entering in the sort code and account number you said about. Is this OK to do or should I do it by the options Santander suggests.

Never send funds from one ISA account to another yourself if you intend to transfer the ISA.

If you did so, it would be considered as you withdrawing from your current ISA and you using your 2012-13 allowance to deposit money into your new ISA.

Instead, give Santander your Barclays details and allow them to arrange the transfer..

EDIT: In your case, open the new ISA with Santander, deposit your 12/13 allowance with them and then fill in the Santander transfer form for your previous ISA (and include the account details of your new Santander account on them)

You could use the 'make a payment' option in Barclays for your 12/13 ISA but do it from your current account not your current ISA.
