Make sure you get plenty of rest in - you are in danger of being exhausted with two very different infections.

No worries there - resting is about all I can manage!

Strange thing though - I have still managed to do more housework than OH has this week - albeit only the occasional loading of the dishwasher and washing maching, putting wet washing on radiators and cooking of very simple meals! Oh and I did quickly run the hoover round the living room yesterday morning because I was fed up of the state of the carpet.

Definitely no beer! Alcohol hurts like hell! Good job really that money is so tight at the moment that alcohol does not currently feature in our lives.

    Thanks for the good wishes!

    Hi All

It is the first of the month so I have updated my debt totals and my sig. The 2 big bits of news are as follows:

My total credit card balance is now under £23K - woohoo!! :j

My total non-mortgage debt is now under £34K - double woohoo!! :j :j

This means that even though OH has built up an awful lot of my debt in my name ( ) I have still managed to wipe nearly £8000 off my total debt in the last 2.5 years!

I have also achieved some small targets:

The balance on my Littlewoods catalogue account is now £0 (at its highest it was over £1000).

The balance on my Amex Blue card is now down to under £700 (at its highest this was just over £2500) .

    Yippee!!!:j :j

If this wasn't enough, by 1st January I will have achieved 2 more targets:

The balance on Capital One card will be under £1000 (down from a little over £2300).

The balance on my LTSB loan will be under £6000 (down from over £12000).

    So good news all round!

In other news, I am feeling very proud of myself today as I have finally finished a cross stitch Advent calendar I started about 10 years ago!:rotfl:

I finished the cross stitch and machine stitching years ago, I just hadn't done the finishing off - snipping off stray threads, sticking it onto cardboard, sticking on a piece of paper to the back to make it more aesthetically pleasing and attaching the cord to hang it from. I have also been to the shop (my first trip out of the house in days) to get some sweets to put in the pockets. The double sided sticky tape doesn't seem to be holding - I have taken it down for now to allow it to stick properly - if it still fails then I shall have to try some glue.

    But what progress eh?!:rotfl:

    Congrats Piggin,

    Aw thanks!

I think I am going to stick to minimum repayments only for December - apart from trying to tackle Christmas expenses as I go along. If I can get to 2009 with no increase in my overall debt I will be very pleased - and there's no real reason why not, to be honest!

We have got a family party to go to in just under 2 weeks time (hope I'm well enough) which won't be cheap. Then of course there is the rest of the Christmas presents, food and drink. Other than that there is not much else to account for.

OH has been warned that from January his 'rent' will be going up! So hopefully he will realise that he will need to make sure he earns enough to cover it. It will come as a shock otherwise when he has got no money left afterwards!!

    Hi All

I went back to the doctors today because I am still feeling very ill and I was supposed to be going back to work tomorrow. The good news is that the infection on my chest seems to be better but the bad news is that it has badly aggravated my asthma. My doctor has signed me off work for another week, which was a relief - I am still very shaky on my legs and just the effort of going to the doctors was bad enough, the thought of even attempting to just get to work filled me with dread. After 2 lots of antibiotics I have now got a short and very large course of steroids, which by past experience will send me away with the fairies. Let's hope this does the trick because I am seriously fed up now - there is only so much one person can take of daytime TV!

    Bye for now!

Copied from the Make £10 a day in December thread:

Not a bad start to the month - so far I have earned:

I earned enough points on ipoints to order a DVD as a Christmas present - I have gone with the RRP on this which is £19.99

    plus

    £2.62 cashback from Quidco
£5.00 amazon voucher earned from Lightspeed
    £4.00 cashback from Littlewoods

so a total of £31.61 so far this month

Glad the chest infection is getting better, and hope that everything else soon catches up.

good news on the debt targets - I think it is perfectly reasonable to try and get through to the New Year without increasing your debt. Sounds good to me!
