Maybe worth taking a risk on one shift then!
But def not worth losing a new job for...
Sorry I forgot to answer your query about the shift! He was supposed to be having the night off on Saturday, but he isn't now. That means he hasn't lost any hours, which is good.
Completely agree with you about not worth losing a job over! This is why I am actively encouraging to do jobs that he can do as well as the care home job, rather than instead of!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Not a huge amount of news today (have told most of it already!)
I had some other good news yesterday, which I forgot to mention. I have been fretting about my OD because I knew it was due to be reviewed soon, but I couldn’t remember the exact date. I couldn’t find anything on my internet banking and hadn’t got round to fishing out a recent statement to check the date. Also I have received no correspondence about it. Yesterday I received my latest statement and immediately checked the date that the OD was due to be reviewed – it is now September 2009. This means they have automatically extended it for another year! Phew!
One of the things I really want to do is to start tackling my OD but couldn’t really do it until OH’s income increased. Now I can seriously start thinking about this again – I plan to reduce my limit by a little bit every month, just to start whittling it away.
In other news, my Avon delivery came this morning……and it was late! He normally arrives at about 6:45am which suits me fine because I normally leave the house just after 7:00am. I gave OH and DS instructions but I prefer to receive it myself, especially when I have got returns to hand over. Also, I guessed he wouldn’t be long so I thought I might as well wait – it was nearly 7:30am when he finally arrived. I have already got a debit balance on my flexitime and now I am going to have to work late on even more days to make up the deficit. Darn!
Tonight DS is at his Dad’s so I shall have to take is stuff over to him – and it is currently absolutely chucking it down with rain! D’oh!
Anyway, I think that is all the news for now – I will do a to-do list in a separate post.
Bye for now!PigginSkint's debt free diary

I have just got absolutely soaked walking home from the station. The rain was bad enough (stair-rods!) but I lost count how many times I got soaked by a car going through a puddle near to me! I had my waterproof (I wish I had got my waterproof trousers on as well) and somehow the rain managed to get inside - I had it fastened right up to my chin and it still managed to sneak in and down my arms, front and back. My waterproof walking boots are now stuffed full of newspaper after water got in by my ankles.
So I did not take DS's stuff to him - I phoned his Dad to ask him to come and get it himself (he has a car).
I am now sat here in my pyjamas and dressing gown enjoying an MSE fix and watching the paralympics - Holby on soon, hooray!PigginSkint's debt free diary

I don't know when he will get paid, but they appear quite organised so hopefully soon! He did get his travel expenses reimubursed yesterday though...and they fed him really well!
My boots are still drying out ( I have had to wear my trainers to get here today) and will probably need stuffing with fresh newspaper when I get home. I had to put my rucksack in the airing cupboard overnight to dry it out. I have had to wear a different jacket today because the denim jacket that I wore under my waterproof yesterday is still damp.Oh and you should have seen the state of some of my shopping yesterday - I went to Aldi on the way home - the packets of cereal are still on the worktop waiting for the cardboard to dry out!!!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
Today’s news is as follows:
I was very annoyed with OH when I got home last night (so what else is new?!).
He had been out all day yesterday and had left no less (fewer?) than 5 lights on (bathroom, kitchen, one in the living room, both of the bedroom lamps) - you can tell he doesn’t pay the electric bill can’t you?!
He had left the cat in the house (because he didn’t want to put him out in the rain) – our cat does not use the litter tray any more, except in dire emergencies (and then he only uses it for no. 2s, never no.1s!) – the poor thing was absolutely desperate! He was miaowing fit to bust when I got home, dashed straight out the back door as soon as I opened it and then was back in again fairly pronto looking much more relaxed!!
Then I listened to the messages on answer phone. The 2nd one was a very long one and had obviously been caused by OH sitting on his phone again – does he not know what a key lock is?! What a waste of money!! I have a similar message on my voicemail at work from the day before! Grrrrrr!!!!!
That’s about all the news for now. I will update on yesterday’s to-do list and do a new one for today in separate posts.
Bye for now!PigginSkint's debt free diary
