    Today’s to-do list:

    · Collect Avon books in and get them ready to go back out again tomorrow
    · Put shopping away (when Sainsburys delivery arrives)
    · Do daily clicks through Quidco (really must do this more often, so I think I should make this a regular feature on my to-do list)
    · Find one new thing to do through Quidco
    · Do surveys (must do this today as they are really starting to pile up!)
    · Put clean washing away
    · Run another load in the washing machine
    · Unload and reload dishwasher
    · Do a bit of ironing (at least clothes for tomorrow)
    · Have a long soak in the bath!

On the subject of Quidco, I discovered something rather interesting this morning - a nice surprise really. Last night I booked a coach ticket for OH with National Express using my credit card. Before people shout at me for using the credit for OH when I have taken his off him, let me offer these 3 points in my defence:

    1. If he is making real efforts to travel as cheaply as possible, who am I to discourage him?!
    2. It was only £6
    3. He gave me the cash.

Anyway, I digress! After I had booked the ticket I thought to myself ‘Darn! I should have done it through Quidco!’ This morning I discovered that I have earned 30p cashback for doing the booking. I must have registered via Quidco at some point, forgotten that I had done it and even though I didn’t actually go via the website, the cashback has still tracked. What a pleasant surprise!

Right, better do some work now. As I have got to be back home in time to do Avon before the Sainsburys delivery arrives, I can’t stay late.

    Bye all!

 I have just had a really horrible thought. One implication of the missed payment on the Halifax credit card is that they could decide to increase my interest rate. Currently I have got low APRs for the life of balance on everything on there – some at 5.95% and some at 6.95%. As the total balance is currently over £9000, that would really mess things up. OMG I hope that doesn’t happen!

  • I dont want to upset you piggin but unfortunately normally promotional offers are reliant on payments being made on time otherwise they withdraw the offer. I really hope this doesnt happen.

That's what I am afraid of! After I have spent all this time moving balances around to get the good APRs. It is by far the biggest debt (2nd only to my mortgage). Even my 2nd mortgage (the homeowner loan I took out to buy my Ex out the house) is smaller!

I shall just have to keep my fingers very tightly crossed!

I think what I might do is see if OH can make a part payment this week - it might help, it might not.

  • I dont know if it will help or not now, is there any way between you that you can make the payment asap? (i know you shouldnt have to)

Or possible phone up and fib and say it was the banks error and that you'l pay by card or send another cheque asap?

I would also point out to OH the damage that things like this could do and how much extra expense it could cause per month and it will be him that has to find it as he was the one that caused it! (Sorry if that bit sounds harsh )

No I shouldn't have to and to be honest I don't know whether I can - I will have to do some sums I suppose! It will be tight as it is a payment I wasn't expecting. I will ask him first to see how much he can afford.

Not that I really want to, but I suppose I could always do a super balance transfer to my Egg card to cover the shortfall and get OH to pay it back when he gets paid.

Thanks - you have given me food for thought! And no, I don't think you are harsh - I have already said exactly this to him!!

Just paid the Halifax bill via my internet banking (well, it will actually go out of my account tomorrow but you know what I mean) and arranged for a super balance transfer for the same amount to my Egg card. Not really something I wanted to do but not sure I had much choice. Good job I've been paid already this month. Sigh!
