Hi pigginskint,
Just wanted to send you a hug. I'm new to your diary, so don't know the full story, but i can feel the frustration in your last post! It sounds like OH needs a good kick up the wotsit!
Hope things today are better,
Ali x
Hi Ali
Thanks for posting and thanks for the hug - I really appreciate it. OH definitely needs a good kick up the bum and has received a few figuratively recently! It turns out he has absolutely no money in his bank account whatsoever - so it would have been muggins here paying for the drinks if we had gone out (or his friend). What planet?!
I told him that if he didn't have money for a newspaper (especially if it's to look for jobs) then I would give him some money to buy a newspaper rather than have him put in on the credit card. Once his cheques clear he will have some though!
I have told him that I have tried to be open with him about our financial situation and that he really needs to do the same - like telling me when he has no money in his bank account!
I have also pointed out that he might have £0 in his bank account but that is still more than me - I have minus £5000 in mine!
I am feeling a lot better today - although very tired. I was so depressed last night it was untrue!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Thanks! I admit when I read that post at 2 o'clock this morning it had me a bit puzzled.
I am sorely tempted to take the Egg card off him but if I did he wouldn't be able to go to auditions and we do live in hope that they will pay off eventually, nor would he be able to do his office days at his agency. Mind you, it might ram the message home very effectively if I did take it off him! I will play it by ear - if he knew how close he is to having it taken off him he would be a very worried man!!PigginSkint's debt free diary

hi again
please take the card off him
could you give him money for these things
i know you pay for everything at the mo but at least you wont be charged if you pay him IYSWIM
and that way you can say if the money to be paid is essential or not
is there anyway of checking online if there are auditions/jobs available for freeI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -

Thanks. I have read him the riot act again and I think I shall see what effect that has first. Tomorrow I will give him the money for the newspaper. I will warn him first about the removal of the card - see if that has an effect. If not I will take it off him.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
What a truly cr***y weekend I had – felt miserable the whole time. I hope OH pulls his finger out this week otherwise next weekend could be even worse.
Last night I gave OH £1 to buy a Guardian today (for the jobs) and told him I wanted him to stop using the credit card, otherwise I am tempted to take it off him and he wouldn’t like that would he?! Let’s just see what happens.
We didn’t go to my Dad’s for dinner yesterday because somewhere along the line the weekends have got mixed up – it is actually this Sunday coming that we are meant to be going. I think my Dad has got confused – he asked whether DS would be with us and I said he would, which would have been right if he meant yesterday, not for this Sunday coming.
It is my performance development review on Thursday this week which I am really looking forward to….not! I just want to get on with my job, rather than have to write about it and discuss it. Also I have not quite finished everything I need to do for it so I shall have to spend time doing that – I think I have nearly finished so it shouldn’t take too long, but I just can’t get motivated to do it! What I have been trying to do is do an hour a day on it, which has been quite effective actually and also when I was invigilating on Thursday afternoon last week I did quite a lot on it then.
I don’t know about everyone else but I get really nervous about this sort of thing but I suppose the worst that could happen is that I don’t get a pay rise. The best that could happen is that I do, which in my current situation would be very handy.
Sometime today I really must make some phone calls, which is something I actually get very nervous about – though I am fine when I am actually doing it. It’s something I can’t really avoid doing this time – I have sent emails and had very few responses so I need to do some chasing. Time is getting short now so we need to make some progress (organising placements for resit students).
Anyway, I suppose I had better get on with it. Have a good day everyone.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Morning
Sorry you had a carp weekend. Just a stupid question - can you not see the vacancies online @ the Guardian ??? Or could he not go to the library to read it ?
Good luck Thursday :beer:Sealed pot challenge 822

Hey Piggin,
I've read your diary and it was the thing that made me sign up to the site but things just seem to be getting worse!
I know the acting is something that your oh may want to do but he needs to start thinking about you and your life together. If he was earning £1k a month how much better would that be for you both?
He is depending on you to pay for his dreams, what about his support for you?! It has to be a two way street. Dreams dont pay the bills! And if he is building more debt by chasing it surely then it is getting to the point that he needs to think about getting full time job, there is only so much you can support on your own.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, its not meant to but he needs to wake up.Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71
