I was going to say the same thing.

Shut up Graham you miserable b####.
Just because you have a bad life dont try bringing everyone else down.

I doubt he's really that miserable, it's obvious he's been tasked in some way to highlight the negative aspects of the economy to encourage debate.

Is there another suspicious account that only posts positive topics?

LOL I love the way that reporting news you simply don't want to see means it must be a conspiracy theory! :D

To be fair Graham, you do seem to only post negative news stories. Perhaps you are suffering from depression and need to see your GP for appropriate treatment?

You obviously don't understand what depression actually is.

The Daily Mail loves a bit of scare mongering. I remember they predicted last Winter was going to be the worst yet, with protracted and heavy snow fall from October 2011. According to the RICS, enquiries from potential buyers rose 9% in March. Although it remains to be seen whether these enquiries translated into sales, it does suggest there is some movement in the property market. I doubt we will ever go back to where we were a few years ago in terms of house prices. People are taking some time to adjust to the fact that their properties are probably worth less than they were 5 years ago and are unlikely to get back to that level any time soon.

I'd wager that in 20 years, you'll look back on the prices of today as being laughably cheap.

I'd wager you're wrong but to be honest that has very little to do with house prices at the moment. Obviously it depends on how you define 'cheap. For house prices to increase considerably in relative terms we'd need to see a large improvement in the economy and continued constrained supply of property. I can see property remaining constrained but am less confident that we will see the kind of economic improvement required.

I would think it's quite obvious. He is countering what he believes is a bias towards a view he doesn't agree with. I'm sure the posts of many members of this forum would be more moderate if the forum as a whole hadn't split into two rival factions. Personally I think he provides a beneficial counter-point to some of the rabid ramping on here.

Besides which, someone who points out the lottery is a good way to lose money might not be espousing a positive and joyful view but what they're saying is still valid.

This country has set itself up for a truly massive boom next time around, and largely thanks to the lending restrictions you support creating a housing shortage of epic proportions.

In 20yrs compared to what? Prices go up as billions of units of fiat currency are created out of thin air and added to the worlds supply, but only the uneducated do not understand that price means nothing VALUE means everything.

Yes prices will be more in 20yrs time but looking back property will look very overvalued at present time.

Japan has about the same amount of land as the UK and more than twice the population as us. Property crashed 80% and is still falling there.
