Evening all
I've had a lovely day off. Lunch with my friends was great, though my flakey friend dropped the bombshell that she is pregnant  she has only been with her BF for 6 months and they both currently live with parents. But they have got over the shock and are happy about it. So it was an emotional afternoon! She is first one of this group to have a baby. Quite spookily her sister is also pregnant and due within a week of her!! So she has company! (her poor parents must have been shocked that week! :rotfl:her sister has a 2 year old already).
Popped to parents afterwards to say hello as I was passing. And then met a friend for coffee so only now getting home! I called in Morrisons on way back and got a microwaveable fresh veggie curry from the YS section for 49p, saves cooking!!
Night all

Evening ladies , thank you so much for all the birthday wishes yesterday and today:)
I feel a real b itch now because they set me up a kipper.
At 11 they all rolled out of bed and pretended that everything was ok, so much sulking from me, At 1 a knock on the door and there was a man all suited and booted waiting to whisk me off in a limo for a lovely lunch and tomorrow am going to see Dreamboats and Petticoats.
Now you all know that from my posts my kids dont normally do things by halves and are so known for surprising me but they have truely outdone themselves this time. Wont let on that I thought they had forgotten;);):o:o.
Ds2 also had an artist in Swansea that he met through Uni to draw me a beautiful pic of all 5 children . Outstanding work. Welling up here as cant believe I thought so badly of them this morning.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -

DD is at college and they prefer to do it either by email or phone call, they will see you if you would prefer, but tbh its easier for me over the phone atm, hope you feel better soon xx0 -
Late again!
LW: Have fun with your spaniel - I obviously got the waggy tail right.
Shalva: Story of my life. I love looking up new recipes, craft projects etc and spend so much time reading that there is no time for doing.
Miffy: The quilt is lovely. you should be very proud.
Funny day today. After the stress of the past week and me eating myself silly, now I feel exhausted, fat and sick - although stuffing down the best part of a very large Easter Egg may be responsible for that. I did think that at my age I would have learned a bit about self-control. It appears not.
The only bit of OS I managed today was to make bread and tidy up downstairs so I can at least let people through the door.
Uolypool: Glad your family didn't let you down and you had a good birthday with more to come.
On the subject of birthdays......... if anyone knows of a Sarah who has a birthday today and has an Auntie Celia and Uncle Jeff, please tell her that they wish her a very happy birthday, or so it says on a mysterious text that appeared on my mobile today.
A bit of writing to do before I give up and go to bed so I'll say Goodnight All.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening all,
Spent good part of day on phone to various cousins telling them that post op cousin is now on life support....we are all shocked as nobody dreamt that this would happen, although he has become increasingly frail over last few years...far more than he should at 74 IMO.
Sunny but very cold here to-day, nice to look out at, but not be out in...that's my excuse for not doing anything in garden.
Dinner to-night was cassoulet...ish, as I just used diced ham (raw), carrots, onions, pepper, parsnips, garlic, chopped potatoes and herbs all cooked in chicken stock....will add butter beans and crumb topping and heat in oven for Saturday, as trying to cook 2 days dinner in one go, must cut back on electricity.
Swimming lesson to-night....think that I am finally getting the hang of things! Really need to practice more.
Sorry to hear that people are still under the weather, the change in temperature hasn't helped, hope that you can all have a rest over Easter.
Uolypool...what a lovely birthday surprise, we sometimes underestimate our children don't we?
Sleep well, stay safe and warm

Hi all, just a quick one from me as its getting late-don't seem to have had a minute today as I found myself minding DGN as DN had to pop into work on her day off unexpectedly.Had a lovely walk pushing the pram, gorgeous day here but cold.
We have DGD for the afternoon tomorrow so I've been trying to get organised,as I think there will be some visitors too,DB1s birthday on Monday,DB2,SIL are calling with DN8 so need to get pressies ready for their new GS and DN Easter stuff etc etc.The only moneysaving I've done today was buy some ys meat for tea:rotfl:-DN ran me to Mr S when she picked baby up.
Anyway,Uolypool glad you had a lovely day
Taplady hope you feel better tomorrow.
Marie-sorry to hear about your cousin
Great quilt Miffy
