re laser pens, i got this instead as it keeps both cats and the dog entertained at the same time, costs more, but fun to watch them all.

  • Mine go mad for shoelaces, straws, those Zebedee catnip mice, furry toy spiders/mice, etc. They also have a few tunnels that they love chasing each other through & a floor to ceiling cat tower that they love running up & down. Oh, & they love empty cardboard boxes :D

Another vote for shoe laces, although these obviously work better when there's a human operator at one end.

Not really practical unless you've already got one, but since I put the coffee table near the aquarium it's kept one of the cats amused for hours.

Mine is a loo roll shredder too (along with curtains and any clothes hanging outside a wardrobe)
Foil balls are good, mine comes flying the minute I get it out of the drawer, and when she was a kitten I used to have those toys that you can hang from doorways, well I say kitten, she had these up untill around 6yrs old. I think you just have to accept the loo roll thing, mine still does it at 10,and unless it happens to be the last one I think its funny (funnier than a new dress anyhow).
And ping pong balls are great,I have about 30 jammed under the sofa, they like the speed pig pong balls move at.
Do they like cat-nip,this apparently can calm some cats for a while, however has only ever sent mine more bonkers.
Good luck, and have fun watching the lunacy.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

My cat has lost about 50 ping pong balls in our flat - we have no idea where they all are!

But apart from balls, she tends to just play with rubbish! Her favourite toy at moment is a child's plastic tea cup (from a tea set) that my niece left behind, pens, bottle tops and crisp bags made into balls.

Mines also a toilet roll shreader, which is funny until you come home after a long day to find loo roll EVERYWHERE!

She has 2 huge cat tower things, lots of proper toys etc, but I suspect she just sleeps all day whilst we are at work!

Ping pong balls, kitkat foil rolled into a ball, hair elastics, straws are all favourites in our house.

My Frankie loves straws, especially bendy ones. He plays with them then takes them upstairs to play some more

He also has a cat tunnel that he loves and he will play with cat balls with bells inside.

thanks very much for all the suggestions - roll on payday for a very spoilt kitty!

Loo roll has survived so far however they have managed to destroy a catnip mouse between the pair of them and i don't think any form of repairing will rescue it!! My mum knitted them some cat nip mice for christmas which are so far undestroyed so might get her to make some more.
