PayPal Red Flags for "Risk Alert"
Hi
These flags have been confirmed as a bug on the PayPal site. The team there are aware of them and this should be resolved later today.
PayPal Customer Support have told members that they can ignore the flags at this time.

I too have these red flag alerts on all 4 payments I have received today, posted them all off as guessed it was a bug. When I noticed the first one I thought it was an alert for a buyer who has opened many INR cases - that would be very helpful.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Every payment so far since about 9.30 am this morning has had a red flag for me.
I know glitches happen, but why do paypal take so long to sort them out?
Had a few more alerts and then phoned Paypal. The story that I was given was that it's there to alert me to post using a tracked delivery service.
Also mentioned Clothing, DVD, Cds, Computer & Console games seemed to be targeted.
I told them what I thought about it and she then said this was being reviewed today as there had been a lot of calls on the subject.
Will wait and see what happens.0 -

They have already confirmed it is just a bug, how long they take to bother doing anything about it is anyone's guess. personally I suspect they won't even look at the issue until after Easter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I logged into Paypal this morning and discovered that every sale I made in the past 24 hours has a red flag on it! They are all small amounts, £3 - £15, some of them from repeat customers. I am glad its a glitch, I was worried there for a while!0

Sold an item on Ebay, and received payment through PayPal. When I looked at transaction a red flag icon comes up next to it. I clicked on it and it says 'Risk Alert'. What does this mean?Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Funny how on my sales, the red flag appears on only some of them!
I have also had sales with payment confirmed in paypal but on ebay the sale is still 'awaiting payment'.
A lot of cross checking going on here before i post the items

I reckon this "Red Flag" thing might be some new PayPal feature that the coders have forgotten to tell the customer service staff about.
Furthermore, I think that a lot of sellers will now not be covered for something, and when they go to make a claim, PayPal will say "No, we red flagged this for a reason, you're not covered".
