Funeral - tipping?

What would most people do - tip or not to tip - the drivers and pall-bearers etc.
And if so - how much?
I haven't seen this come up before, so I'm curious what the replies could be!

never ever heard of it.
I was asked to organise a funeral for a member of our family and rang around for quotes (honestly) and ended up using a firm we hadn't used before; they were lovely and we used them again for the deceased's widow, when she too shuffled off this mortal coil.
I sorted out the bills but was never made to feel we should be tipping. So I would say not.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Given the profit they make, I would say the tip is more than catered for in the bill.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I have only been to 5 funerals and organised one myself. I didn't tip the drivers & I haven't seen them tipped at the other funerals. Every funeral I have been to the pall bearers have been family & friends of the deceased so again no tipping.
To be honest I wouldn't be inclined to tip. Apart from it being the last thing on your mind on the day, you will be paying a quite hefty bill for their services already! If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0 -
My parents think you should tip the grave diggers. If it's a cremation, no-one to tip ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Dont tip anyone except the grave diggers if you see them.0

That would never have entered my mind, so thats a noTreat other's how you like to be treated.

How would you do it? Jump up and shove a fiver into each of the pall-bearers' pockets as they walked past with the coffin?
It's their job, they're professionals, they don't need tipping."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
You could organise a donations box at the funeral - we did for my dad's funeral last summer for the Macmillan nurses who helped him in the last stages of cancer.
You could organise a donations box in the name of the funeral home, but like the other posters have said, they've already covered the profit when they hand you the bill so I think a charity would probably be more appropriate.
