Hi there. I know exactly what you mean. Previous to my LBM I was spending £80 to £100 per week at Tescos and there are only 2 of us (plus 4 cats). Since then I've started a little circuit going to Lidl, Aldi and then Asda (for branded stuff). I did some calculations to compare which came up with Tesco £61 and the same/equivalent from Aldi £39.

This week I wasn't well so only went to Asda which cost £57 but this included £5 for 3 trays of bedding plants and £24 for a months worth of cat food and treats.

Which is why my diary is call "I can't beleive how easy it can be " [sic] because once I had my LBM making the effort to stop be a lazy Tesco drone and seek out better deals I lost my £1000 overdraft in 2 months.

Wow! That's amazing! I'm also an Aldi/Lidl convert, but recently I been working mostly at the weekends so haven't been able to get there and it's been easier to get a delivery from asda, however now i'm on maternity leave I'll be able to go every weekend!:j First trip is this weekend, but have had to do mini-shop from asda to last until then and I can't wait. Hopefully we'll then be able to stick to our £220 monthly food budget!

  • Done some more research online and looks like it's a known "problem" that apple never officially acknowledged and until Jan 2011 they replaced them for free if you were persistent but since then have stopped saying they're too old. Grrrr. Looks like I'm getting a new one :( I would just make do with my iPhone but my music is important to me and I have way too much to fit on my 16gb iPhone :(

My little 2nd gen nano freezes sometimes, it says it's playing but no sound comes out. I find that just letting the battery die normally works as when I put it back into the docking station afterwards it starts working fine again! It's been doing it for nearly 2 years now and is a slight inconvenience every now and again but not worth me buying a new ipod yet. Hope this helps!

By the way, a MASSIVE HELLO to our newest members, I'll be along later tonight to do my updating (I promise this time!) so you will find your lovely names and amounts on the front page with your very own number. Anyway, must dash as I've sneaked on in work (tut tut) xxx

Antonia, are you a member of freecycle? There are always posts for free boxes on there, you can also advertise a wanted post on it to drum up some free boxes, you will have to be able to collect them tho.
