Oooooooo, DH and I sat and wrote a wish list last night (things we want not things we need :D) and put it in priority order, there is estimated £1700 worth of stuff on there ranging from new blinds for the patio doors to a new laptop to some new mugs :rotfl: and we realised after this month we could actually quite easily afford to buy one item off the list every month   it was quite scary but quite exciting at the same time :)

Have decided I will be back next year as a 'saver' as we desperately need a new car so my target next year will be to save £5k toward a new one (not going for as much as I paid off this year as we really would like a bit of a life and some pocket money :o)

Getting very excited now as my bill for Mr Branson will be out next week and I will be paying it off :j :j :j then we can start living :j :j :j

Yaaaaaaay you are so so close this is awesome, you can help me next year JM, glad you are staying. You will be pleased to hear I have got better on the ebay front and I am putting a few things on each week :T

    I love your posts!

What are you going to do on the day you become DF to celebrate?

Oooo I dont know, curl up in a ball and rock back and forth probably :rotfl:, who will I be once im no longer the 'lady who pays the debt' ive been her for 12 years :rotfl:.

I did ask DH last night, whats my present for paying it all off on my own, and he said anything I want, I only think he said that because he knows im such a skinflint i'd probably treat myself to £5 worth of beads off ebay, anything else would be a waste of money :o Quite like the idea of going out to dinner on my DFD, but i'll prob be skint on that day having paid the last bit off :rotfl:

How lovely. How do you think he will react?!

He will be shocked, he'll be upset that I didn't tell him I was in trouble - but he works soooo hard and I was stupid to get in the mess in the first place - it was important to me to sort it out myself - but I have to tell him because we always said we would be honest with each other - and I will be - just 12 months later than I should. When the dust settles he will be proud I sorted it on my own but i'll NEVER get into this mess again. Its been so hard not being able to discuss this with him - but the forums on here have been the support I needed and am so thankful for that.

I've read so many diaries of people struggling with debt and have taken inspiration from them and the support offered by complete strangers. There are lovely people on here that can make the difference between someone coping and not coping - what an amazing thing to be a part of.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all.

Pay day was Friday but as I've just switched to a new account and am waiting for them to send me the stuff I need for online banking (33mins on hold on the phone Friday night for someone to say we'll send you what you need, should be with you in 5 days) I can't yet repay my CC.

Made £52 at the car boot yesterday. I was hoping to make more but I wanted rid of my junk and people wanted to pay as little as possible.

£52 is still £52 and is definitely a step closer to debt freedom (and at least it's clutter gone!) :j:j:j

:A:A:A Well we are all very poud of you for working through this by yourself but I understand why your OH will be upset with you. I'm the same though in that I keep things bottled inside and don't let people help me. Hopefully you'll be able to relax properly in your relationship once you've made your last payment and you'll have no more secrets between you. :A:A:A

Well, I've spent the weekend in Liverpool (had yesterday off too!) and had a great time, very mse though as I didn't drink so it just cost fuel.

I've found a house I want and should be able to make an offer in January (if it doesn't sell before then, not likely as it's been on for about 5 months and it's just before Xmas!). I'm so excited and have become a little bit obsessed with working out the costs of kitchens/bathrooms/carpets/flooring/boilers etc as I'm trying to work out how much this house would cost to do up so I can put in a REALLY cheeky offer.... It looks like a pensioner has been in the house so I'm hoping that they will just want the house gone especially as it will have been on the market for months. It is 2 bed but with a HUGE landscaped garden but there are 3 bed houses in the same area but with a small garden with the house already done up for around the same price so I definitely need to be cheeky!

I wonder if InsertWittyName will be debt free tomorrow???? (is the 21st your payday?) How many others are going to be debt free by the end of this month??!!!!

    xxxx
