Jemma, I have been like a dog with a bone and worn him down gently. But I think what clinched it was sending a link to a beautiful flat with waterside views and it was nicer than anything he's lived in recently :) so modern, will be amazing if we can find one of those flats. It's 6 weeks until his lordship returns, he's really missing everyone now. I am behind with my craft fair things, eep. I need to get on with it, I have until Saturday morning then the clock has run out!!! *runs off to sew more*

i second the idea about contacting the bidder.

note to self: sf flour made from plain+baking powder does not taste good! I was trying to make 'twinks' as found here and I was so looking forward to them but I can taste the baking powder! yuk.

psychopathbabble, If you don't have self-raising flour and only have plain flour then you need to add bicarbonate of soda to 8oz (225g) of plain flour to get the equivalent of self-raising. So in the example of Twinks Hob Nobs which already calls for a 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda I usually add about 3/4 tsp of bicarbonate of soda to 8oz of plain flour. I think the general rule is 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda + 8oz plain = self-raising but I don't want to add too much so I measure slightly under a level teaspoon.

ETA: This link explains the difference between Baking Powder and Bicarbonate of Soda, the link is to an Australian site but it's the only place I could find references to the two different ingredients without trawling around the site.

    Also found these links :-

I only tend to post with my updates, but I just had to write to say it took a lot of guts to come back and apologise so well done! We all have stress and issues in our lives to deal with and they can get on top of us. This forum group is so supportive and understanding so you are not on your own.
    Keep up the good work.xxx

affordmylife, I'm pleased to see you're back with us and I totally agree with fritterprincess' opinion that it shows strength of character to come back and apologise. You could so easily have read our posts and thought "S*d 'em". As far as I'm concerned you had your say, I had my say and I'm ready for us to move on from this. :)

mf0u, Thank you for the mention in your epic post. I really don't know how you manage to think of things to say and be so supportive. :D

Another epic Jemma post  ahh ty for the birthday wishes :) though its made me realise ive been trying to get to Disneyland for 27 years now :rotfl: I did sit DH down a few weeks ago (when I finally accepted the 15 year plan money really did have to go toward a new car :() and make him promise me that he would take the kids and I before they were too old to really think 'WOW'. I also explained (some might say guilt tripped) him with the understanding that if he DIDN'T get me there, that he would then be the third person to promise me my dream and break my heart :o

Today is a very exciting day :D:D its holiday day!!! just got to wait for DH and DS to get home and we are off :j :j but on a sadder note our goldfish died :( we've had him well over a year but for the last 2 days hes been on his side at the bottom of the tank, I tried to save him, popped him in salt water and put food where he could reach it but though he did start to breathe better yesterday he just couldnt pull back :(
I was actually quite surprised how sad I felt about it as it was DS's goldfish but I had got so used to him being in the kitchen and feeding him it was a bit of an 'oh, hes gone' moment :o

Kerri get back to that machine! stop slacking young lady :rotfl:

And just to say, perfume bottles are highly collectable so if they are limited edition or a good make they do very well on E*ay, so well worth a go if you have an empty one ;)

.................me again. I need some advice!

I have a Gucci watch given to me as a present from an ex boyfriend, now I'm getting married next year and I'm not sure what to do with the watch. Every time I wear it, it reminds me of my ex who was lovely and we didn't fall out just drifted apart. What should I do with the watch?

I've had a look on flebay, and they are making about £60 for a second hand one. But I don't know if I should get rid of it.

    What do you reckon?

Trying hard – whilst I’m not happy that you’re broke, I am very happy that you’ve done something to make you happy which is leave your job. Life is too short to do something you hate. Well done for being brave.

    Hi everyone

Well, everything is OK! I can sell enough on fleabay to give me an income :j I also have two cleaning jobs and then some teaching coming up in September. I love giving myself a 'patchwork' income and I am so chilled out now, I didn't realise how working in a job I hated was affecting my health and my home life. No more headaches, tummy aches, neck pain etc. I am lucky that I was working part-time but we have cut back a lot on DD & food budget and I 'only' need to bring in £500 a month and the DMP is still on track to finish April 2013. :j:j Well done on everyones payments, hugs to all those that needs it, I do read all your posts even if I don't write anything myself!!. xx

Avogirly, I think the fact that you're considering getting rid of it means it's time to let go :)

I've just had a disappointing email to say that I have to give up my allotment because the council deem it to be uncultivated :( Going to have to tell the OH later, why didn't I go down there a bit more?!?! Oh well I'm moving to Cardiff in a few months so would have had to give it up then anyway.

Well done, that's a huge boost to your total :T

Thanks spagbol! I just can't wait for payday now so I can hopefully go past that £1000 mark,
Im having a bit of a fight within myself at the moment, I'm one of these people that never does things slowly, I'm an all or nothing girl :o
I see this as a good thing, if I want something I 99% of the time get it eventually but those closest to me disagree, I get so obsessed and my mind eventually goes into meltdown they all worry that I'm doing it again.
I need to get the balance right for me and my family, i earn enough to do this sensibly but the demon within says your not pushing yourself hard enough.
    Anyway rant over sorry :(
