The passbook came separately and arrived first. I just wondered if the Signature form referring to 'Nationwide Bond' was the correct form or parhaps had been sent in error. I don't recall it being mentioned on the phone when I applied.
The lady on the phone when I applied mentioned bond to me, so I'm expecting documents talking about a bond.0 -
Added the signature to my passbook this morning. They checked the account and confirmed that it is backdated to April 7 when I opened the account.0

Applied to transfer all our DDs& SOs to our existing joint FlexAccount this morning, they said any cost incurred because of the over lap between getting paid and the DDs & SOs going out would be covered by Nationwide.:)
Then we both applied for the Flexclusive accounts, the money will be taken from the FlexAccount on Monday but interest will be earned from today.:):):):)
All done in one visit.:cool:0 -
Oh dear. You are making a habit of passing off wrong info about this account.
T&Cs 12:
"Cash and automated credits deposited into the account will earn interest from the date of the deposit."
Cash deposits made on a non-working day or after the cut-off time on a working day simply cannot be processed until the next working day! Yes, Faster Payments to get processed 24/7 365 days of the year but cash deposits do not!
Similarly, I think you will find that any request to open a new account on a non-working day or after the cut-off time on a business day will be postponed until the next working day.
Nationwide may back-date any interest payable to the date you actually gave them instructions to open the account but the deposit (even via FPP) cannot appear until the account is actually opened!0 -
Paul, this is simply not true!
Cash payments made to or taken from Nationwide on this or any other account shows on the date it is done, Saturday or otherwise.
What on earth are you trying to prove? That's now three things you have said about this account that have turned out to be wrong. I know you are trying to help but it might be best if you give up now whilst your winning.0 -
Walked in today, grabbed a form, filled it in and handed it back. Was asked if I have another current account as my FlexAccount isn't marked as "Main account". Said I was in the process of transferring and was told "Thats fine, I'll open the account now and post the pass book to you.". Perfect. Now I just need to start funding the account with £750/month and make it look like its my main account (they are going to check after 3 months apparently)0

..... (they are going to check after 3 months apparently)...
I am given to believe they will check every month that you are still eligible - though they might not be religious over the direct debits after a while. The monthly £750 has to happen though, for as long as you want the ISA benefits0 -

Well, I thought I had checked this out thoroughly with telephone bank staff! It appears they are wrong again! They wrongly assumed that the same rules applied in branch as over the phone! I guess they will now be sending out another memo!0 -

All I was told when I switched to the FlexAccount was that it had to be my "main account". They wouldn't tell me how long I had to keep the direct debits there or anything like that.0
