Just rang NW again and spoke to a different advisor, he says YES, you can just transfer 2 DD, thus speeding up eligibilty criteria!
Transfer form can be found here http://www.nationwide.co.uk/pdf/current_account/IF14_transfer.pdf
NOTE you have 10 days to respond with choices or else they will transfer ALL you DD's0 -
superb piece of information, Linclass!
They could get so much more money into Nationwide, and have so many more happy customers, if they made it easy to start with0 -
Well, I'd love to .... but .... the bu**ers have removed it!!!
So sorry, if I came across as a know-all who knows nothing.
However, when I rang last week to check something, the advisor did say it could be done by phone and the website DID say you could. Maybe they've changed their minds.
Sorry.
Thanks, thought it was me. I am going to the opticians on Saturday and am going to the Nationwide too straight afterwards, which is just over the road.0 -

Sorry.
Set mine up by phone this afternoon. Took 20 mins of being on hold ,passed to the wrong area , more on hold and lots of rapid fire questions but quicker than going to my local branch.0 -
Went into branch yesterday, issued passbook and opening balance transferred from flex account. Not appearing online as of yet.0

Checked back on the last three pages of this thread and can't see any evidence that anyone can see this new ISA on their online accounts.
Maybe its a combination of web designers catching up to allow this new account as well as a deluge of applicants?0 -
Hey Folks,
Wonder if anyone can help me. I currently hold a Nationwide e-ISA (opened April 2011). I understand that I can now open a new ISA for this financial year and wanted to open the Flexclusive as I am a Flex Account holder. I just have one question- it says that I can't transfer ISA money, but can I open up the account with a tenner lets say then transfer £5000 from the e-ISA?
I would then leave the rest in the e-ISA and use up my allowance for this year? Could I then add money to my e-ISA for this tax year?
Thanks

No you won't be able to do that, the flexclusive is for new money only, no transfers allowed.0 -

That's not what was asked.
The new ISA does not allow ISA transfers in, but if someone wanted to withdraw the cash from their current ISA into their Flexaccount (therefore losing the tax-free status), and then use that as "new money" into the new ISA, there's nothing to stop them.
However, that means that most of the current year's ISA allowance is used up in one go, and the allowance from the previous tax year is lost. If there's a chance that the OP wants to put any other new money in this tax year, they would probably be better to simply open the new ISA with a small amount now, and leave the existing ISA where it is. By the end of this tax year they could have two years worth of savings earning interest tax-free.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

The earth does not belong to us.
