Myself and wife just opened two accounts using number provided by giruzz -- quick and painless (existing joint account holders). Saves a trip !0
-
I can apply by phone as soon as Flexaccount shows as 'main'.
Did they define what is "MAIN" account?
Is it an account with minimum 2 DDs?
Me and OH have appointment next week when we have to start the Flexaccount, initiate the switch and apply for Flexclusive ISA.
BTW,today, they confirmed that, though we are new to the Flexaccount, to start the ISA,if we initiate the switch, we do not have to wait till 3x£750 been remitted0 -
I've just tried, using the number given by giruzz above. Got through almost immediately but was told by a very pleasant and polite young lady that because my FlexAccount wasn't showing as my 'main' account, I couldn't open the Flexclusive by phone.
Ok, will be passing a branch on Tuesday so will pop in and do the paperwork to transfer accounts0 -
Did the deed today. Painless. Now just got to wait for the account passbook to come then I have all the details needed to transfer cash in.
Only headache, as I opted for monthly interest, all the interest will be paid into my Flex account so I will have to log-in every month and send it back over.Never Knowingly Understood.
Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)
3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)0 -
If you have an account just call 0800 - 111 4420 and ask to open the ISA. The process is really quick, you just need your accnt nr, NI Number and to remembe two direct debits / standing orders that are leaving your account.
Regads,
Giruzz
Do you still need to send them the ID stuff via the post? Pay in more than 750/month and have 2 DD's so qualify , just think if you do it could be easier calling in the branch.0 -

You cant pay the interest in from the flex account each month if you have already put in the full allowance.
If you havent used your allowance this then why not just get the interest added to the ISA anyway?0 -
You loose out on your full ISA allowance that way. As if the interest was paid in full in your ISA it does not count towards the limit!
I filled in the form with the 'Monthly interest' option ticked. Lady put me on the straight and narrow that for full allowance it had to be yearly option0 -
I agree with you entirely. Been with them continuously since 1980 and had in the region £250k with them up to 2007, but not now although my wife and I still have about 55k saved with them, don't qualify. However our 23yr son with next to nothing in there, but meets salary requirement does qualify.
I am the same, since being made redundant I am doing agency work the amount I earn varies from month to month, some months there is less than £750 going in the account although I have other isa's with them.
I can see a lot of irate customers complaining to Nationwide. :mad:0 -
Unfortunately they have to draw the line and set the barrier for entry.0
