I had interest paid in September 2012. If you haven't got it yet, I'd have a chat with them.

Hi there - hope I'm posting in the right place - I'm not especially clued up on ISA's and T's and C's, so I may be in the wrong, and if this has already been shared here or elsewhere, my apologies if this is the case; let me know - I'll delete! However, I heard BBC's Moneybox last week - transcript here - go right to pages 14 /15 at the end
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/programmes/money_box/transcripts/money_box_13_april_2013.pdf

What they're saying is that if you have a Nationwide Flexclusive you can transfer all your existing ISA monies into the Flexclusive cash ISA it, as long as you act quickly - they made a mistake in their T's and C's which they will honour - but you NEED TO ACT BEFORE THE END OF THIS MONTH. We did this online yesterday, and had no problem with it - hope this is some use to someone - a listener on the programme had transferred £50k across to take advantage of the good rates.

Yep, this has been well reported in this thread. Hugely important for anyone with this account to get transferring now as the ability to transfer in ends next Tuesday!

I tried requesting that they backdate my interest to when I opened the Flexclusive last April 2012 as I did ask to transfer then and was told no. They have come back with only until 8th January 13 as they have told others on this thread. They are asking if I agree to this. Do I say yes or is there anything else I can try ?

If I didn't ask for a transfer before, I guess I'm not very likely to get the interest backdated to 08/01/2013 am I?
  • Sent off all relevant documents to the Ombudsman today, the waiting begins.
yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift thats why its called the present ;)

Why do you believe that you are entitled to interest backdated to April 2012?

You have had interest at your old provider from April '12 to April '13.

And interest from Nationwide from Jan '13 to Oct '13.

This means you are already getting double interest from January to April of this year. This will probably be greater than the interest you'd have got if you'd had it in Nationwide from April '12 (as you wouldn't have then had three/four months of double interest).

Perhaps I should have explained myself better. I actually asked for the difference in the interest from April 12 to when I transfered my Nationwide Issue 3 ISA to my existing Flexclusive Issue in March13 . i.e the difference between 3.1% and 4.25%.
  • I had £5640 in my Flex ISA @ 4.25% , then £5755 when interest added last year.

Found this thread so transferred £10800 from Santander ISA @3.3% three weeks ago.

I put a letter in with the ISA transfer form explaining I wanted interest I missed out on to be backdated.

ISA transfer went through fine but didn't appear to receive any extra interest from Nationwide. No letter either.

Went into Canterbury branch yesterday and the girl at the desk said I had one payment of £340 waiting in the system, and another of £168ish.

Is it safe to assume that one is for interest accrued so far, and another is for the money I "missed out on" and have requested?

Anyone else have a similar situation?

Yes, I estimate the backdated interest to be c. £160, so this'll be the £168.

I imagine the £340 is the standard interest that has accrued on the account.
