I'm still working on the decluttering - and ticked a few more boxes
Husband's surgery was successfuland thank goodness for keyhole surgery. A few years ago he'd have been out of action for weeks instead of days!
The flylady tip about cleaning the sink has worked wonders. I realised this morning how much more relaxing it is to wake up to a clean sink, and all the other bits and bobs that are included in making sure the sink is clean. (I'll soon be able to join the Flylady thread lol.)
I hit a brick wall when it came to dumping utility bills and rather than ask in the thread, I did a quick Google and it brought me straight back to this siteand here:

I'm happy I checked now - 20 years for some documents
aimeelister. I'm a great believer in Feng Shui, despite not knowing much about it. My friend knows a little bit, and she always remarked on how our lounge/dining room always 'flowed' nicely. Unfortunately, I'm not sure we spent our money wisely on the dining room suite that was delivered last week. All we've seemed to do is walk around furniture and the 'flow' seems to have been lost, so I'll ask her round for a coffeeBut thanks for the post.
I'll have to pass on the wine charlies_mum, I went teetotal in April, but a coffee will do nicely thanks
jannyannie. Have you tried taking a couple of shirts out of his wardrobe? Just to see if he misses them?
I'm just about to clear the hallway: the rain's been bad overnight here and I don't like the look of the rising water level on the roads outsidebut thanks again for all the tips.

maybe its just the new year but I am feeling inspired to start decluttering , with 6 of us in a small 3 bed council house space is at a premium and we have far too much stuff.
having read the last few pages I am going to disregard my nearly 17 yea olds stuff , she has the smallest space in the house and I am always just throwing stuff back into it . Its up to her to organize it and keep it tidy , nobody else has to even see it . It does bug me however that nothing gets put away and I spend a good 20 minutes a day moving her stuff back to her room.
I have already today sorted my yongest daugters (11) clothes into outfits and removed some unworn and unloved stuff for recycling ( no car so can't get it to a charity shop) the two boys( nearly 4 and 13) wardrobes are ok neither of them has too much and eveyting hangins in outfits ( the result of a much needed cull and replace during prime sale time last week)
we have a loft ful of stuff , babay clotes from when my youngest was born aswell as 2 cots , a high chair , a spare bed ( i don;t even know why!!!)
we are planning to hire a skip in march but It would be nice if I could clear most things before it got to that point .
we have a shed full of tuff we have been intending to carbot for over a year now , but without a car it was never really going to happen so I may jut try freecycling it or just recycle as much a possible before disposing of the rest. then the kids would have somewhere to keep their bikes out of the rain !!!
I am going to tackle it slowly and try to stay on top of everything I have done before I move onto the next , I ahve lost count of the number of times I have declutteed only to move onto a different room and let the clutter build up again in the first !!!
Wish me LuckI am journeying to a debt-free life.

Good Luck with the declutter Jane
I started decluttering my house just before christmas, We still have the loft yet to do when DH get around to doing it  and my DS toy room as he has so many toys he doesnt play with, I was going to list them on ebay but I have decided to try and sell them on ebay to get a bit of money to save towards christmas 2008
I also want to tackle the spare room as we are planning on making it into a study at some point this year
I only have 1 son and all his stuff clutters up my house so I dread to think what it would be like if I had 4 children:eek:
I love the idea of sorting clothes out into outfits...I am going to give that a go :cool:January Grocery challenge
Budget £120
Spent so far £22.540 -
I;ve started de-cluttering stuff in the comp room ............papers that should have been chucked long ago, hardly dare delve into the bookshelves.
Have managed to clear our and re-organise six canvas stackable storage boxes and label them so I know whats there. Nothing worse than not being to find things after a clear up.
Did clear out two drawers but I;m afraid I put things back and shouldn't have so they need doing again.
All my card making stuff needs sorting out. Had some new stuff bought me for christmas so I can have a sort through and what I've got too much of can be sent to Mums care home to help the staff to do card making with the residents. Can be expensive if they have to buy everything and before Mum was bedridden she used to love the card making.
Emptied one lot of stuff into the wheelie bin............old catalogues, the papers I'd sorted.............could do it before the wheelie bin was emptied though.
So, I've made a start...................this thread hopefuly will make me carry on. :TMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I have a good bit of stuff I could ebay, but the thought of photographing, writing a description for each item and working out the postage is a lot, when you have a lot to declutter. Are there any cheats ways of listing items quickly??Penny xxx

I have sold a few job lots of mixed items, some bundles of clothes in selective ages, items that are similar, and if not too heavy, you can offer postage and collect.Ive also done job lot of over 250 items for collection only.
You dont make the amount of money you would if you sold them individually,
But what you loose in money,
you spend less time inputting details on computer,
clear items out of house in 1 go,
You can also add any items you find during the listing.
Do a search on ebay completed listings under:
mixed lot / car boot job lots ect.
You could also refine the search to your local area as there may be a few dealers/market traders ect that do buy in your area.
