When Ebay finally realise that people are leaving in droves. The only thing that keeps me there is that there isn't currently an alternative site with sufficient customers :o

Exactly.. but where is everyone going???

    Hi Guys,
    Hope you all are well.

    IN
    nothing!

    OUT
    Bag of rubbish from bedroom.
Few more bits added to charity bag.

That's it, I'm afraid - been tidying rather than decluttering today.

I wish I knew - QXL has gone, and eBid never seems to do much trade.

If it's anything like me, then they're going to the carboots, freeads papers, local noticebaords, giving it away etc - anything but list.

I put two large items up on eBay a couple of weeks back, against my gut instinct, but they weren't shifting any other way and we needed the space.

One sold within a couple of days and was collected there and then - brilliant I thought! :j . The other finally sold last week - collection only and to someone registered halfway across the country, who has obviously bid by mistake but won't admit it. They take ages to reply to any email, they've asked for my address three times now despite replying to emails I've sent with it in, asked when they can collect twice even though I've already said, asked how much delivery would be (err, collection only!!) and now want to know if it will fit in their car (I don't know what car they have! and the measurements were on the listing in big bold text! Argh!). The most annoying thing is, literally hours after they placed their bid, someone rang up from the previous weeks paper ad - but I said it was gone as I've never pulled an auction in all my time on eBay - could have made £10 more profit, not had any fees to pay and been rid of the thing a week ago.

Now I remember why I decided to stop listing - I swear my 1050th feedback will be a neg the way this is going - I get the feeling they're going to be that sort of person going by the blunt little comments they've left others :(

    Right..

decision 1 : bag up the outgrown clothing into sizes and bung in the local paper... £10 for a binbag of clothes isn't unreasonable is it? It will all be next/bhs and maybe a couple of bits from the catalogue (redoute mainly!)

decision 2 : Stop buying stuff for the children.. they wear school uniform for 2/3rds of the year they don't need many clothes.

decision 3 : reopen my website selling my childrens outgrown bits.. it was linked to my ebay account ... heehee

decision 4 : if it hasn't been worn/used and isn't likely to be.. get rid! Regardless of how much it cost!

decision 5 : this next lot going on ebay might well be my last.. so it has to be good!!

And who knows where the bag of remaining maternity clothes was put? I need to hand it over to my sis.. :D .. and I have a huge pile of prem baby stuff I need to fling.. not to mention the nappies that can go!.. BUT.. where are they???

Does your local hospital have a baby unit? Would the midwives be able to use the prem baby stuff there or maybe pass it onto someone who could use it?

Or how about an NCT sale?

Haven't heard of that one, but will have a look later.

I have registered my Ebay user name on Ebid and Tazbar so that no-one else can use it. It might be worth doing if you have good feedback on Ebay so that if you move, your buyers will be able to find you.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I was also disappointed with my ebay luck - 50 items listed and only 10 buyers - lots of watchers but not purchasers.

Four bags of rubbish going to the tip from OH's garage this morning.

Got five more parcels I need to send off to ebay buyers.

Had a phone call about the washing machine we advertised in the local shop, but the prospective buyer wasn't in when I called her back. Will try her again later. I will be good to find a buyer for that too.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
