  • DH and I did have a go at the garage yesterday. Giving a couple of old printers and a keyboard to a man who does up computors on Freecycle, and loads of stuff to the tip. I don't feel very inspired today though. I work part-time and have a couple of days off so I should start. I,ve been to Lidl and taken the dog out, and now I'm on the computor again which:confused: I seem to be addicted to!

I find the easiest way to stay focussed is to pick one room to sort out at a time, or even if that is too scary then one chest of drawers, wardrobe, etc. Yesterday in between doing all my normal chores I sorted out my underwear drawer which I'd been meaning to do for months.

I'm with you on this one, starting off by trying to ebay the Videos. Its time consuming as I have to watch every single one first to make sure it doesn't jump and is in both decent visual and audio condition, if not then scrap heap time. So far from the 73 pg/u ones I have watched 13, listed 12 and have 60 to go, if I start singing Disney songs, please forgive me:o

Pigpen, you may find schools would love to have the fabric particularly for textiles etc. One of my friends was sorting out hers and we could pass it onto the local school where is was really appreciated. HTH

well I managed to get 15 items on ebay last week and 20 items on Amazon - only half sold but made about £60 so I think thats not too bad at all :T havent managed any more de cluttering this weekend as we were a bit busy with other things but I have shredded loads of paper ready for collection on Wednesday - so that leaves a little space on the office floor cleared :p I am planning to go for it big style on bank holiday weekend.

thankyou for the inspiration on this thread :D

well, off to a fair start.
I wrapped up 4 baby presents, and wrote out cards, that I bought ages ago for 3 friends (one friends' twins were born in November :o ), and sorted another parcel I have to send, will send/deliver during/after work tomorrow.
    Its a start.

Tomorrow evening I am going to try and whack a few things on freecycle.

Am going with the philosophy of doing a litle bit each day.

Have done quite a few things over the last few days.

I am well chuiffed, we have acquired a filing cabinet off freecycle, hubby is out coelcting it now! It means I can finally get our filing under control and then remove the smaller pedestal thingies we are using just now. Hurrah!

Sorted out dd's wardrobe and put some stuff on freecycle.

Also spent some time shredding old paperwork, and cleared my desk surface so at leat I know what needs filing!
    Getting there.

Hi everyone, well done for all achievements, especially people who have managed to make money out of their decluttering! :T :T :T

Bit of an update as I'm in need of motivation again.

My good news is our attic is now empty, the bad news- it's all in our bedroom (where the loft access is! :o ). This is despite sending a suitcase full of bedlinen, box of books and huge box of clutter to the local charity shop. DH did 4 trips to the local tip with full car loads last weekend. I have now got rid of all the empty toy boxes (if ELC happyland ever becomes a collectors item I will kick myself). I hadn't realised how big our attic was, almost wished that our buyers could see it so they could see what a bargain they are getting.

Talking of being careful what you wish for... our estate agent informed us today that our buyer's buyers have lost their sale, and the 2 houses below us in the chain are back on the market. Not being the most organsied of people, after clearing the attic I've not done anything more, so as well as normal day to day living mess I also have attic clutter lurking around the house. There is no way we can show people round at the moment  . So... I'm back on track to get my house presentable.

Orginal plan was to start at the top and work my way down. Therefore first I need to clear our bedroom (currently can't see the floor) then work on the kids rooms.

I'm putting off going back on the market as long as possible to give myself a chance to get straight again. Hopefully my buyers will get new buyers so I'm just working towards moving, however work towards worse case senerio. Must go find floor!

Hope everyone else continues to do well. Lots of motivating thoughts to you all x
