I finally grew a pair and went for DTD on this today!
I was in an extra and they had a huge "bin" type display at the end of an aisle that said "Thorntons Moments 600g jar Better than Half Price. [STRIKE] £10 [/STRIKE]£4". The top row was made up exclusively of the jars that scan at £10!
They must surely have caught out loads of people with this trick so I didn't feel so bad trying for my DTD
I bought 3 jars for a total of £30 (one to put out at DDs 1st birthday party, one to go out at my mum's 60th and one for my SILs baby shower)
I got £36 DTD, so all three jars were free and I got £6 off the rest of my shopping :j:j
CS didn't dispute the DTD as they agreed it was clearly advertised at £4 for 600gr Thorntons Moments Jar
They did have a good look over the two different packaging types and discovered that the £10 ones are actually vegetarian and alcohol free. Thats why the two jars have different barcodes, but only one goes through at the reduced price.
They were still happy to honour DTD as the sign wasn't clear that it was only the normal type that was reduced and because both types were on the same display
So watch out for vegetarian/alcohol free jars of Thorntons moments scanning at £10 in a store near you and get paid £2 to take each one away when you claim your DTD!
I can confirm that they are absolutely lovely (I couldn't resist sampling them)
:T:T:T:T:T:T
So glad you got some! Sounds exactly like what happened at my store. They look scrummy but I've resisted so far as supposed to be on a diet :rotfl:0 -

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.0 -

Was the Gillette something you got a DTD in store with, if so then its not a total disaster.
I had problems with nutrigrain bars and JTD bought in Tesco when there was a price difference before
So its not something I'd risk buying again.
I know for a fact that most of the varieties in Asda are £1 per pack. There are 2 versions that are full price though. I've bought one of these versions in Asda with a load of other shopping and it was price matche dwith Sainsburys where they are on BOGOFTiger

I remember last year when DTD was in full swing that the system often didn't count the nutrigrain / nutri-grain because of the '-' in the comparison. Can't remember whether it was just certain flavours that had the discrepancyThe end is nigh0 -
Lots of reductions down the tinned meat aisle also, but only half price there was a few different types of ham, a 3 pack of hotdog sausages and the miscellaneous corned beef 99p guess it's because of all the change rounds the stores are doing.:oI love to help people by sharing my bargains:o0
