Ok, here goes. Sorry it's so long.....

I took DS to feed the ducks in town then over for a play at the park before coming home. I went into the fenced bit of the park with DS and left my dog outside who sat at the gate whining. There was a man in the same bit of park with his DS who came over to me and said to let my dog in. He said that his DS likes dogs so it would be fine. I thanked him and went to the gate to get the dog when two women approached with a little girl. I asked if they minded the dog coming in to which the older lady (50's sorry) hereonin known as Grumpy Mare (GM)
GM - 'yes I do mind actually!'
Me - 'That's fine, it's just that this gentleman said to let her in but it's ok,' and smiled.
GM then tutted and scowled at me then shook her head.
Me - 'You don't need to scowl at me like that, I asked, you said no, there's no problem.'
She then walked of muttering something under her breath. A short while later, my dog was running into the park and GM was coming through the gate. DS asked how the dog got in and I said 'That lady opened the gate and let her in.' I then went and put the dog back outside and she started the head shaking, scowling and muttering again.
Me - 'If there is something wrong can you please say it to my face rather than muttering behind my back'
She then started going red in the face and started roaring and shouting
GM - 'YOU JUST SAID TO YOUR SON THAT I LET THE BLOODY DOG IN WHEN I BLATANTLY DIDN'T.'
Me - 'Sorry but my two year old asked how the dog got in and I told him.'
GM - 'I DIDN'T LET THE BLOODY DOG IN!! WHY ARE YOU LYING TO YOUR SON ?'
Me - 'Well, sorry but you opened the gate and the dog got in. That is what happened so I'm not lying to my son.'
GM - 'WHY ARE YOU LYING TO YOUR SON??'
Me - 'Why are you screaming and shouting at me in the middle of a kids playpark?'
At this, I turned and walked of, still in the park. I wanted to stay for a while so as not to look like she had intimidated me. When I went to leave, DS wasn't coming so I went and took him by the hand and said 'Let's go and play in a park where there are no nasty ladies'.
The poor guy that was in the park gave me a look as if to say sorry.
I was just about in tears when I left. She was just so horrible :(

Well done if you read all that :rotfl:
    Poor you!!

and I think GM is very gracious of you. What a plonker of a shriveled prune to shout at you and besides that to 'bloody' in front of little ones. Sometimes people do not realise what they are doing and have very little understanding for other people-

At least you can take comfort that you are not one of the nasties- and I am very glad for that!
:) Give the boy a cuddle and the dog a pat on the head! ...and for you... a 1p choc! :rotfl:

    Phewwww!! :T

Thank you will pass along your well wishes :A Night on the sofa sounds lovely but think I'm gonna take the dogs down the field for 20 mins, just a quickie today but need to get some fresh air!

:eek:You're a skinny minnie, you don't need to lose weight! But well done on rationing, keep letting yourself have treats though....moderation is key! :D

I used to go through tins and tins of Value baked beans, I loved them and they were the lowest in calories of all beans (105kcal for 1/2 can) but the packaging was changed about a year ago (maybe more?! :o) and the calories shot up to over 150 for 1/2 can!!:( I was puzzled because they taste exactly the same so wondering whether they were always that high and it was a mistake!

Wrap up warm, that wind is bitter!

I am almost a stone heavier than I was 6 months ago, so really need to pull it back again. People in work do that stupid Dukan diet and then wonder why they are always so tired *sigh*

The difference in calories in some stuff is shocking

Fudge_Cake - hope you feel better soon. Take it easy and don't rush out. Your sinus/migraine sound soo like mine - you need to rest until you can sleep it off (but you know that;))

Noticed a lot of people have headaches of one sort or another today - must be this sudden chill me thinks: Hope you all feel better soon. Bring back the sunshine (washing's dry btw!!)

Thanks Mrs Jagger :AYeah I often find it's the change in climate that really affects my head. Sorry to hear you suffer with similar probs :( Unfortunately yes sleep is the best medicine but when I'm this bad I can't lie down! Doh! :( So it's just a case of persevering with meds! Feeling a little better now though, maybe the Elite should bottle our own brand of medicine ;) seen as it always cheers me up coming and speaking to you lovelies!

I'm going to pop out with the dogs now so will be back in a mo :)

I am new here but had to say I know how you feel, rant its healthy.
I got attacked by a woman when I was in the park with my boys years ago. My boys were climbing trees I had climbed as a kid and so had my dad and she took offense. She started ranting and I told her none of her business next thing I knew she was spitting at me and kicking at my shins; nutter; someone called the police and by the time they got there she was gone.

I ranted quite a bit after it happened, it relieved some pressure.

still catching up but just wanted to post about collecting the SSM vouchers from the post office....

mine were in my MSE name, and i explained that they were vouchers from Facebook and had my FB name on....they just asked for proof of address instead, so i showed my driving licence (passport would also be good as photo ID) and they were fine with that :)

hopefully I'll be in when the other stuff arrives though...did feel a bit of a wally :)
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

I really, really, really have to go and get on. I am sooo easily distracted when I'm at home - esp when I'm on the internet!! :o I gave up work half a term ago and you'd think I'd have got the house pristeen, and read the pile of books which live by my bedby now, wouldn't you? But no - it is the same old 5h1t-t1p! I feel so annoyed with myself! And on top of that I've eaten two triangles of the big Toblerone my lovely DS brought back from his school trip for us :( so much for Roemary Conley eh? Back on track now though; whoopsied salmon for supper! Have a lovely evening - not too much banter please as Ill have to catch up in the morning!
