Thanks. Have you ever been to Africa Alive in Kessingland? DH wants to take LO there but don't like paying £43 if its not that great.

Haven't been there but we took the boys when they were younger to a place nearer to Gt Yarmouth. Let me check it out then I'll give you details.

we do that. though last year my son thought he had found the cache, and shoved his hand in a hole. no cache but a wasps nest.:eek:he got stung 3 times. and we were about 1/2 mile away from the car. now he "volunteers" me to stick my hands into the unknown. but its a lovely way to get to know your area and get some fresh air.

I hate this part of it. I had to go back to the car one day for a carrier bag to put over my hand but all I could find was a poly pocket so used that. I usually get DH to get them.

Fuidge_cake your easter treats sound really scrummy and a bet they look far better than anything in the shops (and a lot more MSE too)

Right then you 'orrible lot (and ML:heartpuls) I thought I'd have another go at a stew today given the weather! My first attempt a few weeks ago was ooooookkkkkk but I wasn't overly impressed with it so decided another go was in order!!

So here is what I did (feel free to comment).......

    BIG slow cooker.

Got some whoopsied mushrooms last night (6p) and stacks of salad onions (3p) and 2 bags of the soup/broth chopped veg mix (5p) so begin with I put 2 tins chopped tomatos into the slowy along with a pint or so of stock made with 3 veg oxo cubes.

In went 2 bags of the chopped veg, 4 bunches salad onions and a punnet of mushrooms, then wet a couple of spuds nicely cubed, 250g of mixed pulses which had soaked over night.

The freezer seems overrun with beef so ferreted out a kilo of caserole steak and a kilo brisket joint which were trimmed, cubed, fried off and tossed in too.

    Have I missed anything?

This was taken a few moments ago. Its barely luke warm yet but looks promising I think!!!

    FK, that looks soo yummy!!

i add bay/laurel leaves, red wine, worchester sauce to my stews.

has anyone figured out about milk&more? i have had a delivery almost a month ago and these days my account has been debited £10, though they said they would not.

I had email this morning from them to inform that 0n 12thApril 98p would be taken from my account and to make sure I had enough money in a/c to cover it. Original purchase £10.98 minus £10 voucher hopefully this will be the end of the story for me

Afternoon/evening all.. I have been off work sick today and didn't even have the energy to log on to here. Had my posh dinner out with a friend in London last night and from 3am onwards I've been staring into the toilet bowl.. _pale_ So i missed the start of this thread, hope it;s a good one. For the first time, I'm not going to back and read what I've missed but I hope everyone is well and those that need hugs have had them.

Guppycaz, hope your mouth's ok by now after the extraction

Thanks midwinter. Went to dentist yesterday and its still not healing. Have got new antibiotics and still taking painkillers but good news is the tooth next door isn't so wobbly. Must admit it was pretty hard to resist poking it with my tongue!

That stew looks mighty yummy FK and enough for all of us I hope.
