Firstly whats a whoopsie ? I keep thinking of some mothers do have em when I was a child and Frank Spencer saying " Betty the cats done a whoopsie in the wheel barrow"but I think thats a different meaning.
Second thing is how does Tesco double the difference work and how do you find them ?
One last question was thinking of doing a sat afternoon evening shop at T's as they are closed Sunday and would be great to pick up some meat to freeze and some fruit for Jams if they are reducing but I am never sure what time to go what time would you all look for the reduced stickers ?
Hope the questions are not to stupid !
Nothing's stupid if you dont know the answer!Welcome Liddia!
Whoopsie means a reduced item, not the Frank Spencer version dont worry!:D
Double the difference is what T£sc0 give you if they overcharge you, for ANY reason at all. You'll be refunded twice what they overcharge you, half price offers are the best! You may have to remind them of this policy at Customer Services as they can be "forgetful"! How you find them, well stick around here and join in and you'll find out, can't give all the Jedi secrets away!:rotfl:
1 tip though for DTD, keep an eye on offers that have run out,the end date will be printed on the sh£lf lab3l in tiny writing.
Reduction times vary massively so it's never guaranteed you just have to try, anytime 6pm onwards on a Sat I would say but you would need to try your store a few times to see. Even when you work it out they'll change it so it's trial and error.
Hope that helps a bit but don't be afraid to ask we are a nice bunch!

Right then you 'orrible lot (and ML:heartpuls) I thought I'd have another go at a stew today given the weather! My first attempt a few weeks ago was ooooookkkkkk but I wasn't overly impressed with it so decided another go was in order!!
So here is what I did (feel free to comment).......
BIG slow cooker.
Got some whoopsied mushrooms last night (6p) and stacks of salad onions (3p) and 2 bags of the soup/broth chopped veg mix (5p) so begin with I put 2 tins chopped tomatos into the slowy along with a pint or so of stock made with 3 veg oxo cubes.
In went 2 bags of the chopped veg, 4 bunches salad onions and a punnet of mushrooms, then wet a couple of spuds nicely cubed, 250g of mixed pulses which had soaked over night.
The freezer seems overrun with beef so ferreted out a kilo of caserole steak and a kilo brisket joint which were trimmed, cubed, fried off and tossed in too.
Have I missed anything?
This was taken a few moments ago. Its barely luke warm yet but looks promising I think!!!0 -
Someone from MSE saw my pic and said, "not at all what I expected" given me a right complex that has

Whoopsie is the term we use for reductions. The time is different from store to store, even section by section. For instance in my local, groceries are reduced at tea time 5.30-6.30 and chilled items are reduced anytime from 7.30-9.30.
If you have to nip out for milk etc, make it a goal to go at different times until you suss out the timings in your favourite store.
Double the difference is tescos policy for overcharging. If they overcharge on an item, they double the difference. Be careful though not to waste 'lives' on small fry as your profile is raised each time you do it. It's a policy that the staff hate.
All the best!
Hi Jumble jack

Thanks for the reply, you all seem so nice and friendly on here just reading these threads has made some bad times a bit better lately.
Ok I get the whoopsies, I love them especially when its brie as its only ripe when reduced. I couldnt work out if whoopsies were out of date or reduced, but I think that was Frank on my brain making me laugh like a school girl every time I read the word.
With regards to double the difference is it just a case of buying your normal items and checking receipts against the shelf price ?0 -

Has anyone here tried Graze boxes?
I would love to try one as you get the first one free but I'm really wary of giving my card details and then having trouble cancelling,or worse - forgetting to cancel!
I'd love to know what somebody thinks of them..they look so nice but I'm not paying £3.79 lol!
i used to have it delivered when there was an offer from Groupon. It is really easy to cancel you just select it on you profile on website, they will try and tempt you with different offers when cancelling like few boxes half price and similar.
they have some really nice mixes of dried fruits and seeds and all are yummy but for 3.49 in my opinion its not worth it as the portions are really small and you would be better buying some dried fruits and seeds at Mr T or as i do in lidl.
Overall i can recommend them for first free box and some special offers but not for full price! hth0 -

Ooh thanks for that FK. Don't want to spend too much on days out so hopefully they'll be some geocaches around that area.
