    Good morning NannyLala :)

You're doing a fantastic job there, looking after lala.

Enjoy the lift that coloured hair will give you, and focussing lala on pricing things up, will be very good for her!

Hope all goes well for you all today.

What a horrible evening! Had a call that mum has shattered her hip and has to have surgery tomorrow
It's horrible to see someone you love in pain :(
    Poor thing.

I hope your mum's operation goes well today and that she has a speedy recovery. I know what you mean about someone you love being in pain, it's so heartbreaking and you'd rather have the pain instead of them.

OMG that's crazy :( The IR can be so frustrating - my DH has to talk to them every now and again; sometimes I just sit there open mouthed listening to his end of the converstation! He hangs on for about 45 mins or longer just to get through. Let's hope it is all sorted later for you.

Quite agree with that. It's amazing some of the stuff they come out with. It took me just over 6 months to get a fine squashed. It was 'for the late filing of a CIS return'. I sent them a copy of my submission receipt (ALWAYS keep a copy), clearly showing the date it was submitted - 10 days BEFORE it was due. They argued that they had not received it! I replied that I can only get a submission receipt if I've submitted the return. They replied 'How do we know what it is for?'. I replied because it says

    Contractor name:*****

    EmployersReference:***/*****

    This is your submission receipt.

The CIS monthly return for January **** was successfully submitted to HM Revenue& Customs at 12:15 GMT on 9 January ****

Your submission receipt reference number is:

    3*R5************************

The submission receipt reference number is a unique identification code that is calculated from the entire contents of your CIS monthly return or verification request. It will have changed every time you amended your return/verification request prior to submission and will have been included on every printed copy of the completed return and /or verification request.

We strongly advise you store this on your computer.

It still took another couple of letters before they wrote and said that they had considered my appeal and decided that, on this occasion, they would reverse their decision on the fine.

Jumblejack - good luck for your mum today - hope the op goes well and your mums more comfortable afterwards :))

Nannylala - what a nice idea...will be just the tonic for Nikkilala...she'lll be able to admire her stashes so that should definately cheer her up!!! :)

Hugs for everyone that needs them...hoping everyone else is well :)

I've cleaned upstairs....now just trying to muster the energy to clean downstairs...I'm sure we have a Messy Fairy and Dust Fairy that come in the night to wreak havoc in the house :)

Good morning everyone. It looks like the weather in the north west could turn any way at the moment as the sun's out but there's loads of black clouds around.

Thank you to all those that gave me advice about using an APG that was in a sorry state. I definitely won't iron it and will go along with the untidy bag route and slightly crumple the APG also.

Hope you all have a good day and get some bargains.

if it wasnt so frustrating for you and the others who have to do this, then it would be laughable....maybe they're all ex-Ts staff, hence their inconsistency, lack of training and unique ability to make up the rules as they go along :rotfl::rotfl:
