Forgot to PM you FloFlo, feel free to ask anything as I live in the middle of P00le. Probably best you PM though as I'm struggling to keep up lately and may miss your post if you do.
I returned home from near Poole yesterday. The only Tesco I visited was the one in Westbourne (staying at Canford Cliffs so nearest one). I always find that store very busy. Didn't look for any bargains as was just shopping for some essentials. Did go bowling at Tower Park but didn't call into Tesco there..:(Born to glitch0 -
afternoon.
i got a very nice DTD on a a very posh kettle. my son was telling the cs lady that i was entitled to DTD as its tesco fault.:eek:
to which she replied. "i have been working here since 1998 and i know my job." she then went to give me £10 back, to which my son said "uhmmm shouldnt that be £20?"
*note to self* go shopping without son.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0 -
Thanks FloFlo, she did have doubts end of last year after failing the placement.
In fact the last placement was totally different, first one assumed lots of things they should not have. Her last practice tutor did recommended she made a complaint about the previous one but she decided at the end of the day she would gain much more from the experience of a third one. The last placement even forgot that unfortunately it only counted as her first and offered her a job at the end of it which of course she could not take. So she knows she must be doing something right now.
I did 3 years teaching training for my degree so undertook 3 placements and I was lucky, all 3 were great with me being offered a job at the last one where I still I am.
But not everyone gets 3 good placements I knew students who had bad experiences and dropped out, some in their third year which is a real waste.
Tell her to keep in contact with the placement that offered her a position, is she close enough to perhaps do a bit of voluntary work there to keep her hand in? As in teaching it's often who you know and a personal reference that can jet you a job at the end of it.0 -
She has not quit, she is studying social work but did not have a good experience with her first placement (first time they had ever had a student so partly due to them long story) and failed it although flying academically according to her tutor so did not need to repeat last year. Just finished second placement which counts as first and got a 2:1 so very pleased with that result. She is in the middle of her dissertation which she will go back to finish in just over a week, think hand in is beginning of May. Unfortunately the contract on her shared flat runs out end of june which means she will have to move back home while finishing her degree. Uni being really good and are hoping to place her near home for the final full 100 day placement hence her moving back sooner rather than later. If not they are going to help her out with commuting costs from their hardship fund.
Hope that makes sense.
Ahhh, I'm with you now.:)0 -

That's one of my locals!
Gosh P00le is becoming popular. Was it just an Express you visited as just along the road from Westbourne there is a normal store, often bargains to be found as I don't think many people are brave enough to try them as there is no scanner there. Have often forgotten my purse there too. :rotfl:
