RANT: Asda grocery home shopping

Just a little rant first thing in the morning! I ordered shopping one night from Tesco and forgot my cigarettes. So decided to use Asda as they have delivery slots from 7am-9am and had a slot for the next morning. So made my order with some other random items. The next morning my shopping arrives, at 7.30am, without the cigarettes or a newspaper that I had ordered so not to have to go out. When I rang to ask where the cigarettes were I was informed that the kiosk was locked when they picked my order (I don't believe them as it's a 24H asda) and they had sold out of newspapers!!!! (by 7.30am !!!!!) I was then told that if you have the first slot of the day then cigarettes cannot be ordered. I asked them if they had posted this anywhere on the site to be told NO. Has anyone else had this? Seems wrong to me and has left me miffed!

They are a law unto themselves, they frequently send the wrong things and sub others with ridiculous items. Their pickers, at least in my local store, seem to have little or no common sense.0

Think my best substitution was a chicken pizza instead of gorgonzola cheese!!!!0

I think there is a law about pulling the shutters down on the cigarette counter at either 10pm or 11pm, however if that was the case then why couldn't they have just put the cigarettes in with the shopping IN THE MORNING before they sent it to you.
It's frustrating when people don't do their jobs properly0 -
I wouldn't have minded so much if they had a note on their home shopping to say that if you have the earliest slots then you won't get cigarettes! I could then have chosen a later slot. Customer Services were totally unfazed simply saying - 'Well we haven't charged you for them' - hardly the point as my other shopping came to less than £10 and I'd paid a delivery charge! They wouldn't refund that either. Hence my rant!!!0

i've just had a nightmare asda delivery today too, over£20 of my shopping that was on the list went awol, so had to ring up and complain, they are refunding me the difference but it is a pain in the butt as now i still have to go and buy them items, they need to sort it out or i will be going elsewhere in future :mad:Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

The fact you had the first slot isnt your fault, if thats the case then you shouldnt be allowed to order fags if your wanting the first slot. What happens at work (non 24 hour store) is any fags and newspapaers that have been ordered can only be picked after a certain time as the kiosk doesn't open till 7 and some days the papers aren't out for 6. Sounds like the papers weren't out by the time the van with your delivery on was due to leave, and re the fags cant really say.
Id say the shopper couldnt be bothered to get the fags and paper or the van was out late.0 -

I haven't shopped with them for over a year now. Every home delivery shop sent my stress levels sky high and repeat phone calls to them to sort stuff out drove me potty.0

If you order online, you're relying on some badly trained muppet to pick your food for you and to have the intelligence to make sensible decisions if something goes wrong. Would you stand outside a supermarket waiting for the most !!!!!! looking person to walk past then ask them to go in and do your weekly shop for you?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
