So what if ntl is virgin or virgin is ntl or who owns who

the matter is and I am not alone here is that TV is now blocky (and no sky...:silenced: )

    Internet is now slower

    Internet is now less reliable

There are no phone bills to be found (and i think i am over charged)

oh and the customer service is now even worse than the idiots that worked in India for NTL

so is it just a name change and coincidence or what??

I have to say I am more than happy with virgin/telewest. I am on 10mb cable BB and have no speed problems, haven't noticed any difference in the TV (didn't even notice sky 1 gone as I don't really watch anyway). My neighbour does have problems with the occasional 'snowy' picture on sky. I think all companies, services have their good & bad points.

I have nothing but problems since the name change - it might well not be anythig about the change in name but I have had problmes with my tv and have had 3 engineer appointments and spent hours and hours (2 hours today alone) trying to speak to people - not that Im speaking to them for hours - I normally get put in a queue for half and hour and then speak to someone fo 2 minutes who puts me back in the queue or disconnects me! And they still expect 30 days' cancellation notice.

I'm on 10mb broadband and I can honestly say I have had nothing but problems with speed - very rarely can I get anywhere near 10mb, I have had engineers out to check the line which they say is fine, have had 3 changes of cable modem and STILL not getting anywhere. Am now rapidly coming to the conclusion that traffic shaping is the order of the day - I am paying for a premium service and not getting it - anybody know any decent isp's with unlimited access and a reasonable speed ?

It would appear that there was a problem somewhere between the exchange and where i live (and people around me) as I was not the only one with a realy reduced signal

It seems to have gone up a bit now but still throws me off with no warning and i still cant get to my phone bill.

as for the speeds.. it sometimes gets to my 1.1Mbs but often does not

    still i'm moveing soon

It has definetly changed........I have the phone and 2mb broadband which have had for 2yrs, speed not so much differant but accessing email and stuff has, not always able to get into it.
when i phoned to .....reduce my bill...... they told me that the broadband and phone is to be combined and will be getting both as a package from June! for £20....
have noticed on here someone getting bb phone and tv for that price! so i thinks i will be on the phone to ntl/virgin again very soon,

so i have tried to cancel .. the only thing is...

as i am an old ntl freedom customer the only number i can get is
    08700151515

argh.. try anyhing else for virgin media and it is "no sorry your details are not on the system" and "i can't transfer you"

i guess it is good job i canceled the direct debit

i have rung them to tell them to cancel and asked them to call me back

i have emailed them to tell them i want o cancel

so i guess the ball is in their court now

    lets see what happens.

I'd write but cant find an address

I am an ex NTL Freedom customer and when checking my bills (thedejej, I did eventually find them), I saw that they had not been debited to my cc since December - i.e.3 outstanding bills. I don't know what to do. Should I contact them and advise them or just wait for them to contact me? I don't want to be 'cut off'!
I was not aware that Virgin Media was involved and that anything had changed because I have had no communication whatsoever to inform me.

We've been with Virgin.net for years but since the weekend we keep getting disconnected and can't get back on ("No Dial tone"), until it miraculously works again for a while. Finding this thread I can see it is not just me but that doesn't make it better. We only have an expensive support number which I don't particularly want to call only to have to wait forever to speak to someone incompetent who can't help anyway. Is the only option to leave Virgin? We have had no problems before but it's getting ridiculous.
