NTLWORLD is now VIRGIN but it's gone downhill

so does anyone else notice that now NTL world is now Virgin the service is not as good????

I for one do

Tonight I have had numbers of throw off where i just can not connect

also I have noticed that my downloading is no longer at the speeds I have become used to ie. i could do 110 to 120 kb/s but now 60 is as much as can be done

I thinks I may be kicking off

what does any one else think???

  • I would agree too. I have had problems with broadband since Virgin took over. The speed has been fluctuating. Also the cable box/tv picture has occasionally gone "fuzzy" (even if it is for less than a second, it's still annoying!)

was on blueyonder broadband til it recently automatically changed over to virgin...

not a happy bunny with the service now - speed fluctuating all the time. today has been dreadful - i've been unable to access emails or surf for at least 15 hours... speed tests reported my dload speed at 30kbps instead of approx 1800!!!!!!!!!!

i managed to get on the virgin status page a couple of times earlier and there were no reported problems... yeh right ;)

    grrrrr...

finally back on properly now and the virgin status page still reports no reported problems - unbelievable.

if i pay for a 2mb connection and it fails constantly am i due compensation from virgin?
  • I dont see how a name change could affect the service . Virgin HAVE NOT bought over NTL . NTL took over Virgin Mobile in exchange for 17% of their shares . Sir Dicky now sits on NTLs board and gave them permission to change their name to Virgin Media . Its still the same company , same staff , same equipment etc.
  • I think Virgin Media are making many changes without informing the customers. For a start they have done away with Proxies for broadband...which could affect the way broadband traffic is handled/shaped?? How else can you justify a service to suddenly worked without any problems (for me anyway!) to suddenly to develop issues especially around the same time as a rebrand...

Another factor could be the testing of 20MB/50MB broadband...could that be affecting/causing a conflict on the system somehow?

They have also changed their entire billing system. I am certain that something is happening which is causing problems with both the broadband and the tv service...

Definately agree, I too have had trouble with downloading and uploading and I am on the 10mb package.
Customer service is appauling. I have had to contact them a number of times and the wait has been around 30 to 45 mins, I too believe there are changes going on.
I had been with BlueYonder for over six years without any problems

They're testing the new 20/50MB broadband. That's why speeds are alittle down. They;'re the only company that can provide them speeds as well in the near future for the time being!
