  • I've just read loads of your diary and it's really inspired me to get back to it. My biggest hurdle is getting DH on board. Him and the kids just moan constantly about me being 'tight' and I always reply by saying 'you will thank me when we are mortgage free before we're 50'! but when will it sink in???

Massive congrats on your very inspiring journey. Well done :T

    Thank you :)
It is the key to getting it to work but its not easy. My OH moaned right til the end and still doesn't appreciate how much I had to drag him along (there is a serious lack of gratitude in my view!!).

L-J; would love an update on your new yard. Has your fella settled in yet, or is the mud the same!! Always remember mud fever being a pain this time of year, and with the unprecedented rain fall it must be a problem?

How does it feel being MF do you look at things differently? Have your ambitions and goals shifted? All these questions....!!

    Hi Arkers
New yard is great thanks. The mud though is a different matter :( I think he might be getting a bit of mud fever too (bits of hair falling off his feet :/) Shoving some stuff on it just in case!! I can't bel this rain 0 it just isn't stopping. It is heaving it down here again today. We have a river up there that has burst its banks and flooded the road - luckily the new car is up to the job :D
In terms of him settling in - ermmm....not really!! I have managed to get on him a couple of times but we had a nightmare this morning when I was half on (foot firmly in stirrup and halfway up) and he walked off and then started bucking and rearing. I mean I know I must of been hurting him hanging off his back but seriously horse - it is YOUR FAULT DUH!!!! Anyho we managed to all get untangled and sorted ourselves out (only for him to then blat round the school with no regard for the fact I was on him lol!!)
    It'll be better tomorrow I'm sure :D

Aside from horsey stuff its weird, I don't feel an awful lot different yet. I have been shopping twice for food and it cost £40 each time which was double my nomal budget so that was nice. I still calculate everything and worry about it and then have to check myself! I guess its been a long time being a tight meany so it wont just change overnight!! I still sewed up a damaged top the other night even though it only cost £10 in the first place - I think I just hate waste!!
First payment went to my sister and she was over the moon. She's having a tough time with one of her kids so it was good timing! Its only £80 a month but it is a lot for her.
2 weeks until we go to Rome tho so I'm sure that wont be cheap lol :rotfl:
