    Thanks both
A real eye opener for me as my younger brother has just lost his job - it was my main reason to start doing this - getting rid of the stress of having to have a job (and a well paid one too when my mortgage was at its highest!)...
That and the threat of interest rates rising which I guess is inevitable :(

    It must be hot...
My lodger has turned her heating off today! Well one heater is still on low but probably not enough to cost much and the other one is off! So now we know it takes a level 3 heatwave for a lodger to turn their heaters off!

Another good day today on the money saving front (good thing really since pay day isn't until Friday and I'm overdrawn!)

Day started v early with a horse riding lesson at 7
Today we went over 3 jumps and he was an angel - that's 2 days in a row now he's been good - I'm not holding my breath that it will last though :D

Also been in a training course so free lunch and petrol paid for - they give a milage amount so you normally end up making a profit!!

Evening of ironing and dog walking waits for me.....oh joy!!

    Pay day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I havent done too badly this month largely because I have probably only spend £100 on petrol rather than the usual £250

Hoping Aug will be a low travel month too!
Out tonight so that will eat into some of that :o

Got the girls coming over on Sunday and need to think of cheap, healthy but tasty snacks.... They cant need cooking either coz OH away and I'm a disaster in the kitchen!
    Any suggestions welcome :)

    Hi LauraJo

this is one of my favourite nibbles to make - very quick and no cooking required.

    http://apotofteaandabiscuit.blogspot.co.uk/2008/05/mozzarella-tomato-and-basil-taste-of.html

My across-the-lane-neighbour turns a tub of cream cheese into a bowl so it stays whole, pours sweet chilli sauce over it and serves with tortilla chips - again no cooking and surprisingly moor-ish.
