Hiya!
I have just seen on Momeysupermarket.com that you can get a Cash ISA from Allicance & Leicester at 7% (http://www.alliance-leicester.co.uk/currentaccounts/index.asp?page=prem-credit-interest&ct=curracchome) if you open a Premier Account with them.
Just in case I've missed it, is there a catch...? Or have you/has Martin not mentioned it as it's new, perhaps?
Or, is it just that the Premier Account is pants in itself and does not qualify as a good deal even with the ISA!?
Happy Birfday, MSE!
Has it been 4 years already!? You're looking your age, Martin..!
lol  That window's cracked on both sides!!0 -
I'd like to draw your attention to Scarborough Building Society's Regular Savings ISA, which is paying 6.3%AER. You can pay in from £10 to £250 per month plus you can make one withdrawal per year and still get this great rate.
If like me you are only able to save a little every month this might be the account for you, if you want to keep your current account where it is.
For details see http://www.scarboroughbs.co.uk/savingsandinvestments/products/my_savings.html
Hope this helps?0 -
Is there anyway that banks allow an ISA to be opened and deposited automatically on the 6th? April (the new tax year)? Or do you just create a new ISA whenever and deposit when the year ticks over?0

There's a bit of an error in the article. It has a box titled:
Bit strange in an article about ISAs! However if you actually click on it it does take you to an ISA site.External Roadside Recovery Price Comparison Service0 -

As far as I know if you are applying for a new ISA you need to wait until the start of the tax year before applying with any provider.Indecision is the key to flexibility

Does anyone know if you can have a Scarborough Building Society regular savings ISA and regular savings account (non ISA), or only one or the other? I looked through the t's and c's and couldn't figure it out.Indecision is the key to flexibility

newcastle building society offer a cash ISA at 6.1%, fixed until October 2008 - currently, i reckon this is the best buy as it beats most of the competition (except the A&L ISA, but you need a premier account for that)
however, it may be overtaken if interest rates go up, as the NSI ISA, now at 5.8%, is guaranteed to be 0.5% above base rate...0 -
You can only have one - its described hereanniecave wrote:Does anyone know if you can have a Scarborough Building Society regular savings ISA and regular savings account (non ISA), or only one or the other? This account looks good if you know you can make regular monthly payments.
The rate drops right off if you don't.
So anyone whose circumstances change e.g. lose their job, may find they don't get this great rate.
Personally I am going for rufller bank who are paying 5.93% variable but you need £15K minimum for this.0
