I'm not too far from Warrington (little village between Crewe and Nantwich) Jakes-mum I eat chips and gravy, with my fingers :eek:

Being from the Soft South (come to think of it, Reading's a lot harder than some of it!) I had to try chips and gravy when I was in Blackpool for the first time. I was surprised that it wasn't like the gravy that you get on roast beef...

chips and gravy  nooooooooo!! now cheesy chips, thats more my idea of yum ;) still with a fork though obviously :rotfl:

Ahh Redgoose, highly recommend a second pot for special savings and its alot easier if you pick a certain coin to collect for it (we collected 50ps for DS's uniform fund) as then you dont have the 'which pot do we chuck it in!' dilema every time you pot :D

  • That's a great idea jakes-mum (the second pot not the cheesy chips I mean) :) Next year, after our Grand Sealed Pot Opening Ceremony in November, I might save 50p coins for our holiday fund.....

Hope you're feeling much better, BTW. No wonder we have so many bugs and sore throats going around with this awful wet, muggy weather we seem to be stuck with. My two poor GC have both been poorly again :( With the rain we've had so far today I'm sure I could use a dinghy and come and visit you all :rotfl::rotfl:

Have a lovely evening anyway x

    Hello everyone :D

Thanks for the e*ay tip, jakes-mum and little sweetie :j...Better get the prep done ;).

Red Goose did you enjoy them though :)? We used to get them when we were little, from the chippy as a treat in a big bap with gravy (the chip butty).
Yuk jakes-mum , and I thought you were a classy posh lady...cheesy chips  .I’d never heard of them, until I met the DW. She tried to take me to the dark side :p but I said nooooo, you can keep them for yourself. Well I tried them once :p;):p and it was enough...But at least you’re using a fork :rotfl:.
Ooops, I was onside with you...then you introduced the mushy pea :rotfl: :p :rotfl:....No I have been known to occasionally dip them in mayonnaise , I know it’s wrong but ssssh – don’t tell anyone :rotfl:;):rotfl:.
Rain....bahhhh....nevermind, at least I won’t have to water the garden :D.
A glorious 20p from us today. Into the pot it goes :j.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone .

now nu1isit! I AM a classy lady, but im sure even the queen has a food vice she cant live without ;) I actually didnt know what cheesy chips were until I met DH, he's the one that lowered my values regarding fine dining, I think its because hes Welsh personally :rotfl: I must say I only like them if they are made by our local pub, they just dont taste the same at home.
Im afraid at home I have my chips plain (no salt or vinegar) with a bit of red sauce, I am partial to a chip buttie though . . as long as its on brown :D

Hello all, long time no post from me!

The ONLY problem with this thread is catching up with reading all the posts if you get left behind!

I've been sooo busy recently with end of term stuff, archaeology at the weekends (yes in this weather) and I've got a rotten cold that's still hanging around. I've also been scanning every paper and website for a house to rent but there's not much around and even less for us because we have a dog :(

Because we hope to move soon I'm trying to spend very little so only coins smaller than £1 going in my bottle at the end of the week. Still managed about £2.90 last week! Off to count this weeks offering,

Hope you all have a good weekend!

We're doing more digging and it's my birthday on Sunday :j

  • i found another 4p to add to my collection plus i restarted my pot as I treated myself to a new wallet to better hold all the discount cards and coupons. Its well annoying when you spot a bargain but don't have the relevant coupon so shouldn't have the problem now.
