Goodness! I have gas permeable contact lenses so I'm always very gentle/careful when I remove eye make up. I don't even use waterproof mascara as it can be tricky to remove. Such a useful review. Thank you :A

I'm glad that you're excited about the argan oil. It's interesting to read about all the things it can be used for :) (I'd google it rather than read the Simply Argan site). I think it will divide people a bit but that's the nature of beauty boxes. (I was hoping for something more like the Neom candle, the REN set or even something by Dr Haushka. ;) They've had some brilliant boxes...)

    glad it helped!

Amarya is definitely the most divisive box, people either love whats in it and what its about or moan and complain that it only has three things not 5 like GB and one was a sachet. tbh, I'm sure Amarya's target market of people who care about their environmental impact will appreciate that sachets take up less raw materials and space/weight in shipping so are more environmentally friendly than putting the jurlique eye gel in something along the lines of the tiny LIB l'occitane cream pot involving plastic, metal, cardboard and a paper leaflet. i also don't think they all figured out that the jurlique is worth £4.50 because the full size is so expensive. suppose Amarya will just never please some people!

I tried Argan oil, I really liked it. Made my hair look nicer and smelt amazing (plus you only need a little bit).

Can't you put your Bobbi Brown collection where the CDs were? Clearly, I am not cured yet. The thought of TAing/streamlining Bobbi Brown cosmetics leaves me with goosebumps! :rotfl: OT - How was your experience with Music Magpie as I'm considering decluttering my music collection.

I'm sorry but I would never publish my list at home - this would be incriminating evidence! :rotfl::rotfl: No, hiding my stash in drawers is the best way forward I think. Seriously, though I really think that the spell of time that I had out of work when I could not easily buy any kit I liked from QVC was a turning point for me and then finding this challenge helped me enormously. I do find though that I find myself wanting to buy something at the beginning of each month. Maybe psychologically I feel I deserve it if I've been good all month?

And in true style I have bought something already but am not chastising myself too much as it was a bottle of Revlon Stormy nail colour from Poundland.

 You see, I must be at least partially cured because using the space where the cds used to live to house all my Bobbi Brown never even occurred to me! :D;)

Music Magpie were fine. You don't get much per cd but it mounts up. Bog standard compilations like NOW 67 etc tend to go for 30p each and the highest price we got for anything was £3.24

We got rid of a seven foot book case full of cds and gained just over £1000.

It took most of a weekend to scan the numbers in using my iPhone, and pack them all up. but you can also type the numbers in.

They can send you the paperwork or you can print it out yourself.

The best tip I can give is to plan what boxes you're going to use to send them in and scan cds in until the box is full then save and start a new box.

Otherwise you have to fiddle faddle a bit so the paperwork matches the cds in the box.

If you send them in 50s or more they come and collect. Otherwise you have to take them to the Post Office.

It takes about a fortnight to get your cheques, but we didn't have any rejected.

However there were some that we couldn't send because they were too old to have a barcode.

    Hope that helps VALM.

If you use TCB you can also get 10.1% cashback through them.

Hmm sounds like I'm going to just have to try this Argan oil! :rotfl:
However I'm moving house in a few weeks and think I should NOT by anything!

"I can resist. I can resist, I can resist...." :p

Anyways as I said in a previous post I like the idea of having a list, so I've made the spreadsheet, and on Saturday I will fill it in. I'm ever hopeful that I'll only have no more than a dozen things on it...but who am I kiddin?! I'm sure I have that in bubble baths alone!:rotfl:

    Hello Ladies :hello:

Sorry I haven't been around for a few weeks - I missed the last week or so of Feb and all of March due to illness - It doesn't look like I am getting any better and have now been referred to two more hospital specialists :o But my 'unneccesary spend total' remains the same so I am extremely pleased with that :T

I have a huge shopping bag full of UU's just waiting to take to Origins - I will try to list them before they go.

    I have a few IN's - mainly easter swap :D

LUSH Bubble Bar - from DD for Mother's Day - all gone now :rotfl: Not sure what type it was: it smelled lovely but turned the bath water yukky brown :rotfl:

    Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleaner
    L'occitaine Cherry Blossom Butterfly Soap
    L'occitaine Verbeana Leaf Soap
    Aveda Bath Bar
Cowshed Cow Slip Soothing Hand Cream
    Arran Aromatics Lavender Hand Cream
    Clarins Relaxing Body Balm
    Decleor Body Milk
Balance Me Rose Otto Wash - All these were travel sizes in my fabulous Easter Swap. I got all giddy when opening them and saw how gorgeous each item is - so super super thanks to whomever my Secret Easter Bunny is :T:T:j:j:beer::beer::A:A

I do hope my easter swap parcel has been received - I haven't seen it mentioned :(

One thing I will need to buy is a moisturising lip balm - will go with either BS Hemp or E45. My lips are so so dry at the moment and I only have fragranced lip balms which are doing them not much good :( I will add the cost to my spend but it's still a good total considering this timwe last year I think I was at about £150 :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone is well - hugs to all who need it and welcome to all newbies and returners

Sarah*a hope you feel better soon.

Here are my ins from my Amarya box

    Simply Argan Argan oil 50ml
Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Facial Serum 2ml
    Evolve Protein Build Conditioner 7ml
  • Well some Ins to report. I got TBS calming aloe moisturiser and that was it :rotfl:. Not really :o - I also got their calming aloe cleanser and Olive Oil foundation as well - trouble was it was 3 for 2 on all skincare and make up and it would have been rude not to :D. I do need foundation as mine is nearly all gone. Also got L'Oreal Touch Magique concealer to try as I've been using a Clinique one which is running out and I wanted to find a cheaper 1. Hope it's OK otherwise I'll have to get the Clinique one again.

To other Amarya beauty box subscribers, as we seem to have different Jurlique samples can you post what you thought of them after you've tried them, would be nice to know what the different products are like.

Another one not that impressed with the Amarya box. I buy cold pressed argan oil anyway and it's a lot less than £21/50ml! I thought it was usually 4 things not 3 too? Oh well.
Don't fancy the LIB box again either. Think I'm going off boxes.
