You're so right biker chick. I have gloated a few times to my friends about how much I've got for a particular item. They all rush off to register with ebay then whinge at me when they've found it's hard work and they haven't made a profit!0 -

Haha, yeah!
I remember my very first transaction on Ebay. I can't remember what the item was now, but it was on a BIN in Peterborough and the only payment methods offered were cash or cheque. Being a "noob" and stuff I never bothered looking at the seller feedback before I bought it - which was actually non-existant - and sent a £20 note off in the normal post, wrapped inside a sheet of A4.
Of course the item never turned up and I never heard from the seller again (shortly after became NARU).

my hubby made a fair bit last year selling classic ford spares, mainly to Australia!
it was all either stuff he'd collected over the years, or stuff that was left in our garage by the previous owner, who was a Ford garage manager, there are stilll drawers full of bits going back to the 60's, it's like one of those alladin's cave stories on tv. we keep meaning to do an autojumble sometime, but hubby like his "junk"."There is a light that never goes out"0 -
my MIL bought a string of pearls (10p)from a charity shop for my niece to dress up with when she was little (12 yrs ago). the MIL restrung them herself with Fusewire i think and the neice wore them with grannys dress, makeup / hat etc.
just recently my MIL wore them and was told that they looked real so off she went to the jewellers - the pearls were valued at a sale price of £3500 (insurance more) and the massive diamond clasp at the back is awaiting its value assessment from a specialist, as the jeweller couldnt give an accurate evaluation on the type and rarety of the diamond itself.Give blood - its free0 -
flippin heck!! they are some pretty awesome sales!! I hav a winnie the pooh bear up at the min - didnt sell first time. Think its just pot luck really - an item that may got for £30 today may only sell for £5 next week!
Thats the truth, you can never tell how much something is going to sell on ebay for.
If I'm selling it, it will be cheap, but if I'm buying it, it will fly.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52
£2008 for 2008 Club Member Number 318
total YTD £75
Good Luck Everyone

Oh why not - the worst thing I tried to sell (couldn't get rid of for love nor money) was a Coalport plate. A good quality well established make you might think - trouble was it had a pic of Elton John on the front....Hmmm..:rotfl:0
