You don't need a username and password to login to the internet each time if its Virgin Media Broadband, it is saved on the device. Are you using VM ADSL?
If you are trying to access the router, then use the reset method as suggested above.

The Password (after reset) should be akin to a serial number on the bottom of your router, it will be printed on a white label.

Ok I'm gonna try with an ethernet cable before I reset, I meant I don't have the username and password to log in after a reset

The ethernet cable goes from the router to your laptop.
Cable modem>router>laptop.
It should then connect automatically to the internet.
