I'm staying at my nannan's for easter and it's driving me mad that I can't get on the internet on my password as she has no idea what the router password is! I need to get on to do work etc.. She's with virgin media using a netgear router but the password on the box doesn't work...
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You mean the router password right eg to access the router or the wifi passcode ?
You can easily reset it and change it to 1 you can remember.
Oh and what make netgear is it ? is it a white 1 like here?
If like the 1 i linked to theres a reset button on the back so get a pin or a pen and use either to press the reset button for 10 seconds i believe but you need the username and password as neil says.0 -
Was going to say use the password underneath, but you say it doesn't work, so been changed.
Could try a hard reset (reset user and password back to factory setting) , as long as you have the virgin media username and password to connect back to net.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
she doesn't even have that :S0

User name and password0

The username and password should be on the bottom of the router0

Is a username/password needed for synching with VM? (e.g. like for PPPoA connections).0

just buy a lan cable for now0

User name and password
you really need to be more specific...
To log into the router's web-based interface, you need the router's username & password. If it's a netgear, defaults are admin and password (although if it's VM-branded this may have been set to something else, e.g. for sky's netgears it's admin and sky). This will allow you then to change settings within the router (like the wifi password)
If you were to reset the router, you'd need the ISP username & password in order to re-enable the router to sync with the internet service, VM in your case.
Or if it's the wifi password you've lost, use an ethernet cable to your computer to then log into the router and change the wifi password, or just use your computer connected via ethernet...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
