Original source of the £1,000+ is from my salary.
Hope that has not thrown up any red flags, just fullfilling the conditions of the vantage accounts to fund them with £1,000 a month.
1. 3 accounts with the same name = 3 accounts in same bank
2. 4 accounts with banks in the same banking family.
3. You are a UK citizen, all the money orginated in the UK and you have been doing the same thing for months.
Not suspicious.
If however in your transfers if, one of the values suddenly went up a lot then it would be suspicious.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

in regard to the country i am from, i don't think that makes much difference , they are legally obliged not to discriminate between their customer so really that shouldn't make any difference
All EU banks, which means the UK is included, discriminate against people who aren't citizens of their own country.
As an international student you are lucky you are able to open a bank account at all. Lots of working foreign people including those from the EU find it extremely difficult to open a current account in the UK.
However foreign students are given special privileges which to two of the banks you have opened accounts with you have abused by having large sums of money paid in from several sources and moving money around oddly.
As I suggested before you need to make your banking transactions look regular then you will find your account will not be closed.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Actually - your country is very relevant.
Some countries are more at risk of being hot spots for fraud, some countries are more at risk of being hot spots for terrorism.
Banks are allowed to profile based on the nationality of their customers and are allowed to create risk profiles based on it.
So why not say and then we might be able to explain a few things?
Exactly. Banks have risk ratings for each nationality.
Also the Bank is not legally allowed to say that they are suspicious and the reasoning for it etc, as that would be 'tipping off' whether you are money laundering or not, so their hands are completely tied, and why everything is so hush hush.
Also being a smart !!!! doesnt help anyone... Ben :wave:0 -
With all this question dodging for the origin of the transactions, I think that the banks may have originally told him that the transfers he is receiving are suspicious for being from that country which is why OP is being so defensive.
I'm guessing either an African or Asian country, before I'm attacked by the OP I have to give reasoning. Most African countries are associated with fraud and a lot of Asian countries are associated with terrorism, even Pakistan which is infamous for the way gangs run certain areas of the country.0 -
well thanks all for the comments
as explained earlier, i have not had any funds from any countries into my barclays bank. i was talking about my lloyds and was honest about what happened and shared it

Why can't you answer simple questions.
You are acting strangely on here no wonder banks are closing your accounts!0 -
well, if that is teasing u so much then dubai
there is no reason to disclose such information but there u go
don't close my moneysavingexpert account please , lol0 -
look mate, i am not sure what do u want to get out of this , i don't need you to grill me and if i was doing anything wrong wouldn't have posted here
my family supported me for my university, it costed 11k per year for international student and considering that i do not work i needed around another 6-7k for my living expenses
the fact that ur dad don't trust u with such money is ur own problem
finally in regard to the loan, as mentioned i had a 15k loan , 8 of which was paid to my gf, the reason to send it to another account was , i was trying to send a chap payment and the freaking internet banking was not allowing to do it from my bank to hers so i then tried sending 4k to my other account which went through and did another 4k and it worked.
i have been with my gf for a while and she needed money to buy a new car so i applied for loan and gave some of it to her while other parts used for personal needs
then from that bank did the 8k and it went through as chaps
hope this makes sense

Your English is pretty poor for somebody who has graduated from a university in the UK. What did you study?
How did you get a 15k loan if you don't work?0 -
@Ben8282, how do u judge my english? i think my english is ok and not sure on what basis do u judge it but again I managed to pass my degree , secondly i am not a native speaker so can make mistakes from time to time
with all due respect, i think some people act funny and dumb, I have said that i am working and in full time employment, so maybe u may want to read my previous posts.
I was asking for ur suggestion and not to be grilled and asked all sort of personal questions.
again I appreciate urs and people comments and time spent posting them but when it starts to get personal and .... then it can get all messey0 -
Do you have permission to stay and work in this country?0
