Buying a static caravan in north wales

Hi, sorry to crash this thread , but you all seem to know the area and I need a little advice. I need to buy homewares ( bedding, crockery etc ) and I wondered if there was a Dunelm near Prestatyn. I thought I saw one when I drove through recently but it isnt listed on the Dunelm website. I have emailed them to ask, but they havent replied. Thanks
I don't know too much about Prestatyn but I don't think there's a Dunelm there. The nearest would be either Wrexham or Chester to the East or Bangor which is a long way to the West. There is a new shopping centre being developed that looks like the sort of place Dunelm might go but it's a long way from opening.
I'd try Matalan in Rhyl for homeware. If you want a drive out there's a shop called Home Curtains and Bedding in Colwyn Bay which has a closing down sale at present and they have some bedding that's half price and now a further 20% off again. The shop looks to be emptying so I don't know how much stock they've got left but you might find some real bargains there. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

If you carry on pass Ty Maawr site, past black cat, - turn right to go to Knightleys area, - there are some caravan sites there.
Hope you get sorted. xx
There are nearly twenty caravan sites in Towyn (see here - http://www.qype.co.uk/ukl13-abergele-towyn/categories/5-travel-and-hotels) and a few dealers as well. The problem as I see it, bearing in mind I've haven't stayed on any of these sites and don't own a dog, is that many of the sites in Towyn are quite tightly packed so even if they allow dogs there might not be enough room to keep them happy.
Beyond Towyn there are some nice sites in Llandulas (Bron-y-Wendon and Thornleys Beach Park) and there's also Gorse Hill just outside Conwy which is out in the country without being too far from civilisation. These aren't too much further down the A55 so you'll only be adding 10-15 minutes to your commute from the North West. Of course you won't have tacky amusement arcades or kebab shops within walking distance of your 'van like you'll have in Towyn.

north wales is a relaxing place there are noisy places but some sites offer peace and quiet, especially the owners only sites.however these come at a price, normally the remoteness getting your shopping or the odd things require a lengthy journey0

Just a thought, does it have to be a caravan?
The little chalets at Nant-Y-Glyn are lovely and from what I remember are cheaper than a caravan, and it's quite secluded?
It's in a lovely spot.

Presumably, you won't have to replace the chalets every few years.
Or do you?0 -

I think the lodges in the link are for rent, but the answer to your question is not as often.
There are holiday lodges on a site near my static in North Yorkshire.
I looked into it briefly, and I think the site owners offer a 25-year lease, so the expectation is the lodge will last at least that long.
Tends to be more money, although someone was selling a tidy four-year-old one for £80K.0 -
Nant-Y-Glyn do sell them, I was going to buy one a few years ago, they're much cheaper than 80k as I remember.
But then realised I wouldn't use it enough for it to be viable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
