Really upset been basically crying all day. Was in tesco in Redcar today and I was parked up in a space checking my till receipt when a silver sports car reversed out of their space and used my car as a bumper smashed into the back and drove off. Now tesco say they have no camras in their car park so they can't do anything about it, the police say they need CCTV proof. I'm a young driver so would it cost me £1000 up front to claim on my insurence which I can't afford with me only beings student. Devastated. I never got the licence plate number all I got was yo01 as I was in complete shock.

I drive a vw golf 2003.

The registration couldn't start with "yo01", when we switched to the new style registrations in 2001, they started with "51" and the followed with "02", "01 was never used.

Is it the Tesco near the railway station~? in which case could the police ask them to check the cctv to see if it's caught them leaving the car park?

reason i asked was because if it does need fixing ie your own bumper is smashed then cheapest solution would be to buy s/h and get a small independant garage to fit it for you

sorry to hear of your plight by the way,i read a survey the other day and driving away after doing damage is on the increase and the most likely not to give details are solicitors
