Where is says complete online - CASH ISA TRansfer Form - it just downloads a document saying your adobe isn't up to date but it is!
Has anyone managed this no problems?0 -
It appears they have tried to make it easier to fill the form in, by utilising Adobe PDF technology which allows you to fill the form in within a browser plugin prior to printing for signing.
It also generates a QR code on that printout in the top right (I think it was), which I assume encodes some / all of the information you enter, to reduce processing time for them (and hence costs).
In my experience, it does work as long as you use the "right" browser (with the correct plugin) on the "right" operating system - for me, this meant sourcing a installation of Windows with Internet Explorer, installing the latest Adobe plugin - I use Chrome on Ubuntu pretty much exclusively, so this was an unwelcomed hassle.
In my experience, on any other setup, you just end up downloading a PDF file with ...
"Please wait...
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF
viewer may not be able to display this type of document.
..."
... in it and no form.
I would far rather had just downloaded and printed a form to fill in by hand, as I have done previously.
I guess they think their time is expensive and mine is worthless.
I did still do it though as it means a temporary upgrade from 3.26% AER (Natwest) to 3.3% AER on my £50K+ of ISA savings, prior to reverting back to Natwest for their 3.5% AER.
Natwest preventing customers with an existing ISA from applying for the 3.5% AER ISA is a stupid customer service mistake. I haven't had to jump these sort of hoops for any other provider before.0
