What is the price of a digital converter box that is needed for the DSO next month

If you have an analogue-only TV, then it's obviously not going to receive analogue transmissions once they are switched off. (It will, of course, still work with a DVD player, VCR, or external digital receiver - satellite or terrestrial.)
If you want terrestrial Freeview, you'll need a Freeview receiver.0 -

Yes, unless your TV already has a built in Freeview tuner, in which case you simply need to retune on the 4th and 18th of April.
You will then receive about 90 channels, rather than the current 5 on analogue.No free lunch, and no free laptop

My tv has a built in free view, when the switch over happened in my region I just had to retune the tv on the two dates we were given. Think I used a first time installation option on the tv menu, it was really as simple as that.If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me

No, a Freeview box will be fine with your existing TV, as long as you have a free SCART connector, which most boxes require.
