Is it possible to apply for Planning under fictious name?

I had a bit of a panic this morning.
In short, I need planning permission to carry out some works to my property.
I have an architect helping with the submission. He asked for my full contact details for the forms.
Will these details go public and be searchable on the internet?
To cut a long story short, a few years ago I had a lot of problems with unwanted attention, which resulted in a police caution for the offender.
Since then I moved away from that area and have lived happily in peace.
Is it possible for me to use a fictious name in applying for Permission or is proof of ID/cheque in name required?
I read that anyone can apply for permission for a property, and they do not need to be the owner, but can I make up a name?

You could ask your architect to make the application0

" Shirley you're not serious" sorry I had to do it.
The application is open to the public but you can as said have the architect apply or use for example your maiden name.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
You can get your agent to submit the application as applicant but he would have to serve notice on you, under Certificate B, as you are the owner of the land. He would then have to put your details on Certificate B which would defeat the object of the exercise.
You could get the Agent to put c/o Agent in the space for applicants details on the forms but the planning office may pick up on this and refuse to register. It is a requirement of applying for planning permission to have the applicants details but you could maybe/possibly be able to get round this if you explain the situation to the Planning Office. I would say that this is the best approach aside from using your maiden name.0 -

Your details must be on the register as that is a legal requirement but they can be omitted from online publication, as that is not a legal requirement. Whether the local planning office can satisfy this easily is another matter but there is no legal barrier to what you want. You should talk with them as has already been suggested.0 -
Have you thought about changing your name? http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/relationships_e/relationships_birth_certificates_and_changing_your_name_e/change_of_name.htm0

thanks for the answers.
My current name is my maiden name. I guess I could get married, but that would be a bit radical for a planning application
Seriously, what's to stop me using my surname but a different first name on the application, such as a shortened version of my first name or a nickname or my surname with my initials? Who will check or care apart from me? So "S Heights" or "Shirl Heights" - dont worry this isnt my name
I have been really worried all day about this. I even called my architect and asked him to hold off the application.
Is there any name that goes on the building certificate or just the address?0 -

i wouldnt feel comfortable with this resting in their hands given the amount of admin mistakes that seem to happen.0 -
I can only think of one way you could do it (not that I have any expertise here). Put the house into a company, own that company with another company in a secretive offshore jurisdiction like bermuda/cayman/british virgin islands which doesn't have to reveal beneficial ownership.
It wouldn't actually be that hard to set this up, but I suspect there would be stamp duty and lawyer fees that stop it being worthwhile.0 -
Our planning department (where I live, not where I work) will redact any personal information before it goes online so that only the agent's name will show."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

thats sounds just what I need. I dont mind having my details on the form, but I just dont want my personal details (name) searchable over the internet.0
