Noticed a lot of you talking about swagbucks - what do you need to do to get points ? have heard of it before and discounted it for some reason, but free money should not be turned away!!

    watch videos - 10 for 3 sb.
    daily poll for 1 sb
install toolbar and log out daily and reopen for 1 sb
    NOSO for 2 sb
special offers, varies on videos available and offers
    trusted surveys
    look for codes on blog
do searches using toolbar and win sb

can take a few weeks to get earning 849 for £5 uk amazon voucher.

if you get friends to sign up under you, then their search wins get added to your total.

it really depends - is it worth it? How many companies you sign up with, the jobs they offer, etc.

Then there are the costs, paying for printing, travel, purchases, etc.

and the changes to tax credits? I am not sure. They have increased your earnings limit before you pay tax but reduced tax credits, so it maybe one of the other and half a dozen of the other.

with self employment, you need to make sure you keep your receipts, prints out of jobs, and keep a good record of what you pay for, ie printer, paper, travel, how much you get paid, take some out and put it in a separate account for tax, if you need to pay it. At the end of the year when you submit your self employment assessment form, it will tell you if you need to pay tax and how much.

Sounds quite complicated!! Maybe I will stick to ebay, swagbucks etc for now

£77.94 ISA interest to add - I'm so sad, I have been getting increasingly excited about choosing my new ISA, I'm slightly obsessive about it. OH is rolling his eyes at my exuberance as we speak :)

Dizzybrunettegirl - you should join in 'officially' anyway, I don't always get even close but it's so much fun trying. And lets face it, even if we don't make our target, any extra cash is a win anyways :) xx

I am thinking about mystery shopping but is it really worthwhile? The thought of declaring myself self employed is scary and also will it affect my tax credits does anyone know?
try checking on the HMRC website ("Am I eligible for tax credits" or something- haven't been there for a long time), you can input some income figure to give you an idea whether it would affect TC at all. also you'd have to declare some average working hours so maybe it would be worthwhile to check the mystery shopping thread to see how much people are doing (i.e. 2hrs/week, 10 hrs /week..? etc)

PS. Being self-employed isn't scary at all :)

36p ISA interest for me :rotfl: Oh well, every little helps!

I've been wondering about MS as well especially as I'll be needing to do a tax return next year anyway. I must take some time and have a good read about it all.
