  • Don't panic. If it is going to make you ill you will be sick anyway if you see what I mean. If you are ill, make sure you see a doctor and tell them what you ate. Chances are if you're healthy anyway your body will cope. (Did anyone v. young or v. old eat it?) I'm assuming you just had a bite or so? If it really was raw you can't have eaten much?

If little ones have eaten it, or elderly, would call GP out of hours/nhs direct just incase! If you feel ill would do the same.

I agree, dont panic. Try not to think about it as you will only worry yourself sick. If you are otherwise fit and healthy and it came from a reputable supplier it will probably do you no harm at all. There is a lot of scaremongering in the media about all kinds of hazards from foods. Unless your immune system is already badly compromised by illness or infirmity you should be ok. It's probably more hygenic than many lukewarm takeaways or fast food outlets.

Definately if elderly or children or anyone less than fit and healthy has consumed it consult a doctor, if recognised early and treated there should be no lasting effects, if not they could experience anything from nothing to hell but healthy adults will only show signs of sicknes if contaminated and should in that case consult a doctor, pork and poultry you should always err on the side of caution and cook well.

Right whats happened is we were shopping in Tesco and i brought from the reduced section a chilled pack of 'Tesco Crispy Chicken Breast Chunks' in a see through package which were cooked ready to eat?

Got out to the car park along with loads of shopping, packed away and opened these chiken things and me and my daughter had 2 or 3 each before we realised they were not very nice and they were chewy.

Got home packed the shopping away, then went to get some out for the dog, when breaking them open we realised they were raw inside.

Have spoken to the manager on the phone who is not familiar with the product (covering this evening) so went and got one and said its a raw product that needs cooking. Now im not stuped (or am i  ) but these were in a see through packet and looked fully cooked and i know you can get chilled foods ready to eat or you can put them in oven for x amount of time to have them hot.

Either way im very confused here because if we had bitten into a raw fleshy piece of meat then obviously we would have known they were raw but when biting into them they were cooked until the very centre which was a bit chewy ( in the car park in the dark we could not see that this was actually raw pinky brown meat). Now if they were an item that was supposed to be raw and needed cooking then why were they almost cooked

Im not sure wether to feel stuped, mad, or what, i know i feel sick when i actually think about what weve eaten.
